Fix Bose Soundlink Micro Disconnects From Paired Bluetooth device

There have been reports from users that Bose Soundlink Micro Bluetooth speaker suddenly disconnects from its paired Bluetooth device. There are several factors that can cause this particular problem to occur such as the distance from speaker and the device, a bug present in the software, pairing process that was not properly performed and the list of previously paired Bluetooth devices is already full. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series, we will talk about recommended solutions on how to fix Bose Soundlink Micro disconnects from device.

Listed below are methods that you can try to fix Soundlink Micro speaker disconnects from paired device.

Method 1: Make sure speaker is within Bluetooth range

As mentioned above, the ideal Bluetooth range for is at least 30 feet or 9 meters. If speaker is more than the required range, it is highly possible to be the cause of bluetooth connection disconnects from device. Aside from the distance, there are also barriers that can interrupt Bluetooth connections such as a wall, door or any nearby device that was previously paired. 

To fix this, make sure speaker and device are in close proximity by moving them closer to each other. After performing this method, reconnect speaker to the Bluetooth device and then check if the problem still occurs.

Method 2: Check device memory lists of paired devices

Most of Bluetooth enabled device can remember more or less up to 8 devices on its memory. It is a possibility that the list of devices on the memory is already full and can cause interruption of the Bluetooth connection especially if one of the previously paired device is nearby.

If this happens, make sure to erase and clear the memory lists of previously paired devices on the device. This allows you to create a new memory of Bluetooth enabled device to connect

To do this, you simply need to head over to the device Bluetooth settings and then one by one delete the list of devices. After performing this method, reconnect speaker to the Bluetooth device and then check if the problem still occurs.

Method 3: Check speaker battery level

Make sure to check battery level of the speaker and also the Bluetooth device. If the battery level of both Bluetooth enabled devices are extremely low, it can interrupt Bluetooth connection thereby causing this problem to occur.

To fix this, make sure to check the battery level. Charge the speaker or the Bluetooth devices before both devices run out of battery. 

Method 4: Check for updates and install

It is recommended to check for new and available updates. Updating fixes bugs that may have been the cause of this problem to occur. Check for available updates and installs them if there are any. 

Updating can be done with either of the following options:

  1. Via Bose connect app. This app can be downloaded on the smartphone that you are using to connect
  2. Via Bose Online Update. This tool can be found on the website of Bose. You can simply connect the speaker to the computer and follow onscreen instructions from Bose Online Update.

After performing this method, reconnect speaker to the Bluetooth device and then check if the problem still occurs.

Method 5: Do a soft reboot

To refresh speaker and Bluetooth device, performed a soft reboot on both the speaker and the device. The soft reboot process is pretty simple, you only need to turn OFF speaker and device, after a few seconds turn it ON back again.

After performing this method, reconnect speaker to the Bluetooth device and then check if the problem still occurs.

Method 6: Restore Soundlink Micro to Factory setting

If the above mentioned methods did not solve disconnection problems for Bluetooth on Soundlink Micro, you may need to reset speaker to bring restore it to its default factory settings. Important thing to remember is that performing this method erases or clears out all saved settings made on the speakers. 

To do this:

  1. Press Power button to turn ON speaker. 
  2. Press and hold the Power Button for 10 seconds. Then, wait for the blinking blue light to appear
  3. A voice prompt will ask you which language you want to choose. 
  4. Reset process is complete.

After resetting Soundlink Micro , set up speaker again according to your own preference and then reconnect speaker to the Bluetooth device and then check if the problem still occurs.
