How to update your Galaxy Note10+ | easy steps to update Play Store apps, software, and non-Play Store apps
Keeping the software environment of your Galaxy Note10+ is easy. This short guide will help you on the specific steps to do in order to update your Galaxy Note10+.
How to update your Galaxy Note10+ software
One of the important things that you can do is to ensure that the software on your device runs the latest software. Carrier-branded phones are designed to automatically notify you of any available updates so all you have to do is to tap on the notification and start installing. However, if your Galaxy Note10+ is the global or international version, you should have an option to block system updates. If that’s the case, be sure to manually check for software updates regularly like once every 2 weeks. Here’s what you need to do:
- Open Settings app.
- Scroll down to the bottom and tap Software update.
- Tap Download and install.
How to update your Galaxy Note10+ apps
One of the beauties of Android is that you can customize a lot of things, including the fact that you can directly install apps from other sources. When it comes to Android, there are two types of apps that you can get. Normally, you should only get apps from Google Play Store but you also have the option to download apps from outside the Play Store.
To check for Play Store app updates on your Galaxy Note10+:
- Open Play Store app.
- Tap More settings icon at the upper left (three-horizontal lines).
- Tap My apps & games.
- Tap Update or Update All.
If you are on Cellular Data connection, we suggest that you update via wifi only to avoid additional charges. Here’s how:
- Open Play Store app.
- Tap More settings icon at the upper left (three-horizontal lines).
- Tap Settings.
- Tap App download preference.
- Select Over wifi only (select Over any network if you don’t have wifi).
- Tap Done.
Make sure to also keep your apps updated all the time by enabling auto-update option.
- Tap Auto-update apps.
- Tap Over wifi only (select Over any network if you don’t have wifi).
- Tap Done.
How to update your Galaxy Note10+ apps from outside the Play Store
By default, you can’t readily install apps without going through the Play Store. In the Galaxy Note10+, you can allow installation of third party apps by enabling a number of settings. The thing is, updating the apps you install outside the Play Store may not be straightforward, depending on how the apps you have are designed. Apps from reputable companies like Samsung makes it as hassle-free for the user as possible. For example, in order to update the default Samsung Messages app, which can’t be installed from the Play Store, the steps should be similar to these steps below:
- Open the Samsung Messages app.
- Tap More settings icon at the upper right (three dots).
- Select Settings.
- Tap About Messages.
- Tap Update button. If there’s no Update button, that means that the app is fully updated.
- Check for the problem.
To update your other Galaxy Note10+ third party apps, there may be a totally different way to do them so be sure to contact the developer for guidance.
