How to sync Outlook and your Facebook Calendar on Galaxy S20

Need help moving your Facebook event calendar to your Outlook account on the new Samsung Galaxy S20? If so, then this post might be able to address that. Here’s how to sync Outlook with your Facebook Calendar. 

One of the important features of social media platforms like Facebook is the Calendar or Events Calendar. With this feature, you can record, schedule and set alarms for important events, special occasions, business and personal appointments. These events can also be shared with all your Facebook friends at any time. 

Events calendar on Facebook can also be shared to other platforms including MS Outlook or Outlook. The steps I’ve mapped out below demonstrate the entire process. Read on for more detailed instructions.

Easy steps to sync Outlook and your Facebook Calendar on Galaxy S20

Time Needed : 5 minutes

The following steps and screenshots depict the standard process of syncing Outlook and Facebook event calendar on the new Samsung Galaxy S20 handset. Feel free to refer to this walk-through in case you need help in the process.

  1. Open the Outlook app on your phone.

    Just access the Apps viewer and tap on the Outlook icon.
    If you haven’t already, sign into your Outlook account by entering the correct credentials.
    You will then be routed to your Outlook Inbox.

  2. From the Inbox screen, tap on the Outlook profile icon located on the upper-leftmost corner.

    A list of menu items for your Outlook account will then be displayed.

  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the pop-up menu then tap the Settings icon.

    It’s represented by a gear-like figure at the bottom-leftmost corner of the pop-up menu.
    A list of settings for your Outlook account, Mail, Calendar and other relevant information will be displayed next.

  4. Scroll down to the Connected Apps and Add-ins section then tap Calendar apps.

    The Calendar apps screen will show up.

  5. Select Facebook from the list of apps.

    On the next screen, you will be prompted to login to your Facebook account.

  6. Tap the Continue [as your Facebook name] button.

    Your account will then be authenticated and then added to the Facebook calendar app when verified and confirmed.
    Your Outlook account is now synced with the selected Facebook account.

If you wish to change the Facebook account, simply tap on Facebook under Calendar apps then select Disconnect from the pop-up message.

You then can select a different Facebook account to sync the events calendar with your Outlook account.

There is also an option for you to export your Events Calendar straight from the Facebook platform.

This can be done automatically through the in-browser app method or by adding the calendar manually into the Outlook account.

Only those Facebook events that you’ve tagged with ‘Interested’ and ‘Going’ will be exported to Outlook.
