S9+ Shuts Down After Getting Wet

Problem: I was swimming with my samsung S9 plus in the sea and it was working well, i took some photos & snapchat videos, after i got out from the sea & lay down on the sun bed to get some tan, i left my phone on the table beside me while the temperature was 30-30 c, after almost 5 minutes it shut down & turned off and i couldn’t turn it on again, i felt the device and it was really hot, i tried to cool it and get it dry but its still not working till now, this accident happened 3 h ago and i don’t know what is the exact issue; is it because of the water or sunlight heat, and it will work again or not?!

Solution: Although this phone has an IP68 rating making it dustproof and waterproof there are still instances when water can enter the phone especially if the rubber seals are broken. In this particular case since the problem occurred after you swam with the phone then there’s a possibility that water has entered the device. The best thing to do right now is to place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb any moisture inside the phone. Once this is done try to turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then I suggest that you bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as it’s possible that the phone is water damaged.

S9+ Not Turning On

Problem: He I there. I have a Samsung Galaxy S9+. Due to some firmware issue (pretty sure my hardware part is good), my phone just got dead.. First when it was dead, I managed to turn it back on using forced reset method. Then after sometime it again turned off and wasn’t turning on.. then somehow it turned on by plugging it in and doing forced reset.. I thought my issue is solved.. but suddenly my phone froze and turned off and since then, it is absolutely dead. It is not turning on and not charging. I have tried all your methods mentioned in your website. It is absolutely dead…….. Not charging or turning on using any method.. but however, when I plug it in, phone heats up and nothing happens.. I am absolutely clueless about what happened to my phone.. no lights glowing, no vibration,no sound.. completely dead Note:- It was factory reset before using and I only added my Gmail account and didn’t install any app. Also, it is running on the stock rom, device was not rooted.

Related Problem: Phone was working perfectly last night, woke up this morning and it wont respond at all. I have tried all the reset options I have found and nothing is happening, the charging light wont even turn on when its plugged into a wall.

Solution: What you will want to do first right now is to make sure that the battery of the phone has sufficient charge. To do this you have to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air making sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in the port. Remove the microSD card of the phone ( if you have one installed) then charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using its wall charger.

If you don’t see any charging indicator then try the following steps.

Once the phone has sufficient charge turn it on by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. In case the issue persists then try starting the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component.

S9+ Restarts when Watching Streaming Videos

Problem: I have an S9+ . Every time I go to stream video using the Google play movies & tv app or YouTube I get a little ways into the video and my phone will freeze and restart randomly by itself with no warning. I tried uninstalling all updates and that did not fix the problem, I tried updating and that didn’t work, and it’s getting really annoying to have to wait for it to restart before I can continue watching my shows.

Solution: It’s very likely that this is caused by a software glitch. Try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
