S9+ Cannot Make Calls Due To Contacts App Crashing

Problem: Cannot make any phone calls because contacts app continues to crash and shut down. I’ve done everything your site suggested as well as factory reset 3 times with restoring backups and completely free of any restore due info or apps. S9 plus is brand new having just activated it 3 days ago. I’m also on the First Net system in case that makes any difference.

Solution: Have you tried checking if a software update is available for your phone? If an update is available then I suggest that you apply it on your phone. In case your phone is already running on the latest software version yet the problem still persists then this might already be caused by a faulty hardware component. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center. If the phone is still under warranty then you could have it replaced with another unit.

S9+ Phone Is Unreachable For Incoming Calls

Problem: I am using Samsung S9 plus phone. Outgoing is working perfectly fine but I am facing an issue with incoming calls. Sometimes I get a call and sometime people get message as ‘Phone is not reachable’. I have changed my SIM as well and when I put my SIM in another phone, it works fine.

Solution: If the problem does not occur when you place the SIM on another phone then we can eliminate any network or SIM related issues that could be causing the problem. You should insert the SIM card back to your phone then perform the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Make sure that your phone is getting a strong network signal.
  • Check if the problem occurs when the phone is started in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode. Check if the issue still occurs.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S9+ Unable To Answer Incoming Calls

Problem: Unable to answer incoming phone calls, 1 out of every 5 calls on S9+ Samsung, android version 8. Phone rings, I swipe green button, phone insinuates that it answered, I am unable to hear caller. I then hang up via red button. After 10-15 seconds, screen changes allowing me to select green phone icon to call previous incoming call. Caller explains that phone call just kept ringing, never went to voicemail. Basically the call was never answered.

Solution: If this problem occurs randomly then there’s a possibility that this is caused by a software glitch. To fix this problem you should perform the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clear the cache and data of the phone app from the application manager. Check if the issue still occurs.
  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. In case it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S9+ Needs To Be Restarted to Make Calls

Problem: Each time I want to make a telephone call I must turn off my Samsung Galaxy S9+ and start it again otherwise the screen shows dialing but nothing happens.  After a restart it will work fine until the next telephone call attempt.

Related Problem: Very regularly my phone shows no signal and no incoming calls are received. If I make a call it immediately connects and works perfectly. A few seconds/minutes/hours after making the call it again shows no signal. In effect my device is outgoing calls only.

Solution: If you are in an area with a weak network signal then this issue could occur. To check if this is the case you should try to go to a different location where the network signal is strong then check if the problem still occurs.

In case the network signal that your phone is getting is strong yet the problem persists then this could already be caused by a software glitch. The best thing to do in this case is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
