Although this is a solid performing device there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. S8+ Bluetooth Stopped working After Software Update
Problem: Recently bought S8+, it worked fine for the first couple of days, then an update (not sure if this was a Android update or a Samsung update, I thought it said Samsung update at the time). After the update the Bluetooth stopped working, if I go to the settings and press the slider switch next to Bluetooth the switch slides over but then the text greyed out. When I exit from that menu and return it shows as off again. I have tried clearing the Bluetooth app cache, I have also tried clearing the cache partition. I have factory reset the phone and it still has the same issue. I then tried in safe mode, and still the issue persists. Does this mean a hardware failure, or is it the latest update persisting in the phone even after a factory reset (I removed samsung and google accounts before factory reset and did not use backups when setting up)?
Solution: If the problem still persists even after performing a factory reset then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component, possibly the Bluetooth chip not working anymore. I recommend that you bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S8+ Not Getting Software Updates
Problem: Hello, I bought a Samsung s8 plus on march 2018 and it works fine but the problem is that it is not getting software updates , its September and there is no updates while my friends are getting the second update i’m stuck at 7.0 . when I go at “download updates manually ” under settings options , it says your latest updates have already been installed. This is disturbing situation . i perform some checks to know if its refurbished but it is not. Would’ve been very helpful for me to find a solution cause this is frustrating.
Solution: If your phone is not getting any software updates then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if an update is available. If your phone still can’t detect any software updates then I suggest that you use Smart Switch to update your phone. Install the latest version of Smart Switch on your computer. Connect your phone to the computer using a USB cord and once your phone is detected by Smart Switch you will get a software update notification. Just follow the onscreen instructions to update your phone software.
S8+ Phone Sensors Not Working
Problem: Hi! Have noticed late August that my phone sensors are not working. This applies to all – from screen rotation, photos and videos taken on landscape mode are displayed upside down in the gallery, automatic call when phone is placed at the ears, automatic silent when phone is flip upside down when somebody is calling me. On top of all this, my auto-brightness is also not working. I already did a factory reset as advised by the Samsung Agent, but the issue still occurs. Do you think something is wrong with the hardware? Thank you.
Solution: If you have already performed a factory reset and the problem still persists then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component already. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S8+ Keeps On Restarting
Problem: Hi wondering if you could help me. My mum deleted her pics/media files so i tried to get them back using a data recovery system. Half way through it crashed and now the phone won’t stop resetting itself even after a hard reset/wipe data/cache. Literally i’ve tried everything. Do you have any advice?
Solution: If your phone has a microSD card installed then remove it then do a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data. If the issue still persists then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
