Note 8 Not Getting Group Text Message From iPhone

Problem: I use the default message app Msg+ from Verizon on my Note 8. I can set up a group contacts that are all iphone users and send a text to them, all of them receive it and can respond back to me, and each one of the group members can see the message. However, when the same group of people send out a text message to the whole group, including me, I am the only one who don’t get that message, being also the only one using Android in the group. How do I fix it? The problem here is when the iphone user is the original sender of the message thread.

Solution: One of the main reasons why you are not getting a group text from iPhone users is if the text message is sent as an iMessage and if you previously had an iPhone before using the Note 8. You might not have deactivated your iMessage service. If this is the case then just follow the steps listed below to deregister from the iMessage service.

If you still have your iPhone

  • Transfer your SIM card to your iPhone.
  • Go to Settings.
  • Tap Messages.
  • Turn iMessage off. Go back to Settings.
  • Tap FaceTime.
  • Turn FaceTime off
  • Exit Settings.
  • Transfer your SIM back to your Note 8

If you don’t have access to your iPhone anymore then visit this website https://selfsolve.apple.com/deregister-imessage/ . You will be able to deregister from the iMessage service from here.

In case the issue persists then you should check the APN settings of your phone and make sure that it matches the setting used by your carrier.

  • APN: vzwinternet

Note 8 Cannot Send Text Messages

Problem: I have an unlocked Verizon issued Note 8 . I’ve inserted my T-Mobile SIM card. I am able to place and receive calls, receive texts but can’t send texts. I do not have internet connect ability unless I hook up to wifi. It is usually at 1-3 bars regardless of where I am, never hitting 4g. Thank you

Solution: It’s very likely that your phone does not have the correct message center number set which is why you are unable to send out text messages.

To access the Message Center number setting of your phone

  • Press Messages.
  • Press the menu icon.
  • Press Settings.
  • Press More settings.
  • Press Text messages.
  • Press Message Centre.

Make sure that the message center number is +12063130004.

Note 8 Not Displaying Whole Text Message

Problem: Hi, I have a pre owned Samsung galaxy Note 8 . I noticed that when I receive long texts from iPhones it doesn’t display the whole message…it has me click on it which then takes me to a blank screen. Is there a fix for this?

Solution: This usually happens when the text message is sent as an MMS. to view this message you should have an active mobile data subscription and the mobile data switch of your phone should be on. You also have to make sure that your phone is using the correct APN settings.

Note 8 No Signal When Sending Text Message

Problem: Hello, I bought a new note 8 about 2 months ago and have it on straight talk. I love this phone but shortly after when I would send a text message out it would say “No signal found for mobile networks.” with a following message saying ” currently unable to send your message. your message will send when service becomes available.”. I’ve also been told when someone tries to call me it goes straight to voicemail. If I call out it goes through and then all of the pending messages are sent and received. After a few hours or if I turn the phone off and back on it stops working again. Then again I have to make a call out.

Solution: You should try checking first if the problem is caused by a software glitch. Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone. Try checking first if the issue still occurs. If it does then proceed with the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Try checking if the issue occurs when you are in a different area. This way you can verify if the problem is caused by a network signal issue in your area.
  • Try using a different SIM card.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have this checked as this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component.
