Note 8 Black Screen With Flashing Blue LED Light
Problem: My galaxy Note 8 has a black screen. The blue light is flashing and I can hear the phone working. It’s making sounds and I can hear that notifications are still working. I need to put the microSD in because in my current new phone I get a message saying the SD card has been encrypted on another phone, which is the phone with the black screen.
Solution: To fix this problem the display of the phone should be working in order for you to decrypt the SD card. The first thing you will want to do in this case is to perform a soft reset on the phone. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. In case the screen remains black then you will have to check if the display works in recovery mode. If it does then the problem could be caused by a software glitch in which case you will need to do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 8 Screen Is Flickering
Problem: Hi, Can you please tell me what is the problem with my Samsung Note 8. At first the issue was I can not seem to use it due to touch issue. So we have replaced it. But then after that I got an unusual issue. The lights seems like flickering all the time and it’s not stopping. What seems to be the problem with this? Hoping for your fast response.
Solution: Sometimes this screen flickering can be caused by an app you installed in your phone. To check if this is the case you should start the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone operates in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it is most likely caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
In case the problem still occurs even in Safe Mode then you should try doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps just yet. Try checking first if the issue still occurs.
If the issue persists then the phone display might be faulty. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.
Note 8 Cracked Screen Due To Drop
Problem: I dropped my galaxy note 8 and had cracked upper right lcd then blank screen since. I bring my phone to the service center and because my phone is still on also I got it pattern lock they said I need to wait until my phone drained and off. They refused to open my phone. So I got home and wait until my phone drained. I found your page about note 8 recovery mode and try the tips but came up with no result. I try to charge my phone but it seem nothing happened, not even a blink of a light is appeared except my phone felt a little warm on the area near the back camera. Do you know what happened? Or I just let my phone rest in peace?
Solution: Since the phone has signs of physical damage then the best thing to do right now is to have it checked at a service center. It’s very likely that the drop has damaged some component in the phone aside from its display, possibly the battery since you mentioned that the area at the back of the phone feels warm.
Note 8 Does Not Sync Data From Old Phone
Problem: Note 5 started with the bleeding screen and locked screen today. Got new Note 8 phone today from Verizon, who said everything would be backed up by Google and Verizon Cloud. Contacts did not update on Note 8. How can I get contacts from old Note 5 (still have as I have to call Samsung tomorrow to get replacement phone process started) when the Note 5 screen is locked and I can’t kick off the Smart switch app? I thought contacts would be in Verizon Cloud and Google backups but can’t figure out how to access. Please help – I’m a tech dummy.
Solution: For this particular issue you can try to manually sync your contacts that are stored on Google to your new phone.
- From the Home screen go to Apps > Settings > Accounts
- Tap Google.
- If necessary, select the appropriate email address.
- Select the appropriate data sync options (e.g., Sync Contacts, Sync Gmail, etc.) to turn on
- To perform a manual sync tap the Menu icon then tap on Sync now.
