Note 5 Stuck In Samsung Logo After Getting Wet

Problem: Hi, my phone got dropped into mop water while I was at work. Currently, when I try to turn it on, it brings up the device logo and then stays there, and keeps restarting from there. When it submerged into water, I took it out immediately and tried to dry the items, I didn’t have any rice at all, so I tried my hardest to fix it other ways. I dried it with a paper towel, and I accidentally turned it on after that. (It was completely dry, I checked the SIM card, and it’s still white, no damage) i just don’t know what to do now…I get it to “Samsung Galaxy, powered by android” but no farther. I am also at a college, so me getting rice is hard, but I could, even though this happened at like 9:30 am, and it’s currently 12:03 pm. Help?

Solution: Since the phone got dunked in water we are going to assume that liquid has entered the phone and is now causing this problem. What you will want to do right now is to turn off the phone and place it in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will remove any moisture present in the phone. Once this is done try turning on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. If the same issue occurs then you should consider doing a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this will delete your phone data.

In case the above steps fails to work then the problem could be caused by a water damaged component inside the phone. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 5 Stuck In The Samsung Logo After Charging

Problem: I Haven’t done any recent updates to my phone but all of a sudden after i turned my phone off and put it on charge, when i turned it on the next morning it it simply got stuck in the samsung logo, Ive tried a few things such as entering safe mode, but it still gets stuck on the samsung logo and I’m unsure if I should do a factory reset as I haven’t got a recent backup. So, is there any way around this problem or is there a way I can do a “forced” backup to do a factory reset? Thanks

Solution: There is no way you can perform a backup of your phone data unless the phone completely turns on. You can however try to connect the phone to a computer with Smart Switch running then check if you can backup your phone data. Either way you will need to perform a factory reset from the recovery mode to fix this problem.

In case you are not keen on doing a factory reset as you don’t want to lose your phone data then you should perform the following step listed below.

  • Connect the phone to a wall charger then let it charge for at least 20 minutes. With the phone still connected to the charger try to restart it.
  • Try starting the phone in Safe Mode. If you can start the phone in this mode then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Start the phone in recovery mode then wipe the cache partition of the device.

Note 5 Will Not Turn On

Problem: My Samsung galaxy Note 5 won’t turn on, I charged it over night and when I picked it up the next morning it was warm so I assumed it had been charging. The power button does not work at all, I can’t turn the phone off or on, It was working yesterday. I tried the soft reset and when the logo appeared but it did nothing after that. It does not give any sign when I plug it in, no lights or screen action.

Solution: Try pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds then check if the phone turns on. If it doesn’t then you will need to perform the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone with a can of compressed air.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger. If you do not see any charging indicator then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also try charging the phone from a computer USB port.
  • Try turning on the phone.

In case the issue persists then you should try starting the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset from here. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
