LG G6 Stuck In Boot Logo

Problem: LG G6 phone operating on the Android system. Unable to get into the phone. Phone boots up to the secure start up screen. After entering my security pin code, the phone displays a unlock icon with a blue loading circle indicating the phone is booting up. However the phone never gets past this step. I’ve made three attempts after this first one to get back into my phone. However I get stuck at this issue. I let it run on the last attempt until the battery was drained. This issue occurred recently after to system update (Within a 24 hr period) so i can help but feel like it might be the system update fault. I’ve had the battery changed on the phone within the  year. The phone did appear to start running slower at the start of the year (2018). I got the phone back in 2017. I did happen to notice that there were a lot of “apps” building up on the phone. At least 30 of these items had the android logo next to them, but had “.exe” at the end of there names, so i thought they were just android programs. I just wanted to exhaust all of my options before i have to buy a new phone. Money is tight right now. So i would like to avoid having to get a new one. Any help that can be provided is greatly appreciated. Many thanks guys!

Solution: The first thing you need to do in this case is to make sure that the phone battery has sufficient charge. Connect the phone to its wall charger and let it charge for at least 20 minutes. In case the charging indicator does not appear then proceed with the steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air.
  • Try using a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone.
  • Check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port.

Once the phone has sufficient charge remove the microSD card ( if the phone has one installed) then try doing a soft reset. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. In case the issue still persists then you should start the phone in recovery mode the do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

LG G6 Only Charges From Computer USB Port

Problem: Hey there I have this LG G6 64gb I bought this from a carrier in australia. And in 5-6 months started facing an issue with wired charging(i have been using the original LG fast charger provided) And one night my phone doesn’t charge from a socket of any adapters…BUT I AM ABLE TO CHARGE MY PHONE FROM MY LAPTOP WITH THE SAME WIRE(I HAVE TRIED MY CHARGER TO CHARGE OTHER Phones and its working FINE…But i am unable to charge my phone from any adapter (tried the new LG original charger as well)I have been using my mobile since then with wireless portable and wired charging with my lappy Can you guys help me explaining the issue being faced by my phone I also want to clear that my phone charging port is moisture free Hope you guys understand the weird issue that’s happening

Solution: It’s very likely that one of the pins of the charging port ( the one that is used for fast charging) is faulty. You can try fixing the problem by cleaning the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port. Check if the phone can charge using a wall charger. In case the issue still persists then the phone might need to have the charging port assembly replaced. I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

LG G6 Is Not Charging

Problem: My LG G6 was on charge using a wall plug. First of all i realized the led light was red showing it was busy charging i saw the battery indicator had the lightning through the battery indicating its charging next minute the red indicator light was flickering then got a notification that the battery is overheated and it stopped charging. I unplugged the charger and plugged it in the phone again it started to charge i noticed it was on 57% . Next minute it just stopped charging no red indicator light was showing. no indication that the battery is charging. The phone was worm but not hot.. i unplugged it rebooted it.. i cleaned the port of the phone as well still nothing.. before all of this started i did have several problems with the phone. Like the phone did shut off at 20% battery level sometimes i needed to wiggle the cable for it to start charging.. the usb cable is ok tested it on other phones.. in working condition.. but what bugs me is that it did not show any signs of issue when it just stopped charging. It’s like it has not power flowing to the battery.. any idea how to solves this sudden battery death

Solution: If you have already made sure that the charging port of the phone is free from any dirt or debris then I suggest that you try using a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone. You should also check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port or by using a wireless charger. If the phone can charge using a wireless charger then it’s likely that the charging port assembly of the phone is not working in which case it will need to be replaced. If the phone does not charge at all then you will need to bring this device to a service center and have it checked.
