Solved Google Pixel 2 XL Not Charging After Software Update

The #Google #Pixel2XL is a flagship phone released last year which is designed by the search giant itself. The phone’s main feature is its large 6 inch P-OLED display which makes the device great to use for viewing various multimedia content. It also gets the latest software updates faster than any other phone model. Under the hood is a Snapdragon 835 processor with 4GB of RAM allowing the device to run any app smoothly. Google Pixel 2 XL Not Charging After Software Update

Problem: After the latest Android update my Google pixel 2 XL will no longer charge with the power brick it came with, the brick works fine because it works with my note and my wife’s note but not the pixel XL I now have to use my notes charger to get it to charge but now it shuts off when that charger is plugged in then charges.

Solution: For this particular issue you should try cleaning the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air then try using a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the device. If the issue still persists then the next step is to check if a glitch in the software update is causing the problem. Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

In case the issue still persists then you should contact Pixel support as this could be a hardware related problem already.

Google Pixel 2 XL Not Turning On Not Charging

Problem: Phone is non-responsive. I was browsing reddit when all of a sudden phone turned off. Thought I hit the power button, but when I hit it again it wouldn’t turn on. Battery was on 80ish% power at the time as I just grabbed it off the charger. The phone won’t recognize it is charging when plugged in, or even on a wireless charger. I have tried to put in recovery mode, even battery replacement by opening the phone and swapping (I knew what I was doing and didn’t damage anything). It still will not turn on. I feel it may be hard bricked, but don’t know how. I wasn’t downloading anything not installing anything from off the play store so this makes very little sense to me. If you have any leads please help me as it is driving me crazy.

Related Problem: Phone will not power into any modes whatsoever will not charge, will not do anything. I had it on a charger overnight it had a full battery and worked fine while it was plugged in. As soon as I unplugged it. It turned off and won’t turn back on. Just prior to this happening I had a few times where it would do this but when I plugged the cord back into it the phone would power back on.

Solution: If the phone still does not respond even after replacing the battery then it’s very likely that the problem is caused by some other faulty hardware component. The best thing you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Google Pixel 2XL Battery Stopped Working

Problem: Hi, I recently bought a Pixel 2 XL. Three days ago, while I was charging it overnight (which I usually do), the battery stopped working. I am not sure whether this battery is already dead/can no longer be charged or used. So, I did a soft reset then charged the phone with a wall charger. After charging, I started using it only to find problems . The battery is only 77 %, but would stop working unless I charge it again and this has happened a few times. So, my questions are: Is it the phone itself that has a problem or is it just the battery? I tried doing what you have suggested (soft reset and I even uninstalled the apps that I rarely use). Would you suggest that I return the phone to the seller or just buy a new phone? I appreciate your help and thank you in advance.

Solution: What you should do first right now is to eliminate the possible factors that can be causing this problem by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger.
  • If the phone does not respond to charging try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port or from a wireless charger.
  • Press and hold the power button for at least 10 seconds or until the phone restarts.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the problem still occurs even after performing the steps listed above then this is most likely a hardware related problem already which should be covered by the phone warranty. You should bring this back to the store where you purchased it from and have it repaired or replaced.
