Solutions To Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Text Messaging Problems

Note 3 Cannot Receive Text From iPhone 6

Problem: My note 3 will not receive text from iPhone 6 and some calls. I have checked my spam and no #’s listed, no blocked #’s either. We checked iPhone and same thing no blocked or spam #’s. I can text from note 3 to iPhone and text go through fine but nothing comes through when iPhone user responds back or starts new message. We have deleted #’s out of both phones and did soft reset and nothing. We unchecked imessage on iPhone and nothing. Note 3 receives all other texts and calls from other iPhone or android devices. Same issue if we try to send group message back and forth. Both #’s and phones are old. We’ve been able to text perfectly fine until end of june. Help! What is going on?

Solution: Try checking first if an app installed in your phone is causing this issue. The most likely suspects are security related apps. To check on this you need to start your phone in Safe Mode.

  • Turn the device off.
  • Press and hold the Power key.
  • When ‘GALAXY Note 3’ appears on the screen, release the Power key. Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume down key.
  • Continue to hold the Volume down key until the device finishes restarting.
  • ‘Safe mode’ will display in the bottom left corner of the screen. Release the Volume down key when you see ‘Safe Mode.’

If the problem does not occur in this mode then it may be caused by an app installed in your phone. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the problem persists then you may want to consider doing a factory reset on your phone. Make sure to back up your phone data first before proceeding.

  • Turn off the device.
  • Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, Power key.
  • When ‘GALAXY Note 3′ appears on the screen, release the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key.
  • When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
  • Press the Volume down key to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset.’
  • Press Power button to select.
  • Press the Volume down key to highlight ‘delete all user data.’
  • Press Power button to select and start the master reset. When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  • Press the Power key to turn the restart the device.

Note 3 Cannot Receive Text Messages

Problem: Hi so I have the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with metro pcs with the carrier of T-Mobile as well. Recently my phone has been able to send messages but can not receive messages and I use my phone for work and don’t know what to do.

Solution: Try restarting your phone and see if this resolves the issue. By restarting your phone you reset the phone connection to the network and this usually resolves issues such as this.

You should also check your phone settings and make sure that you don’t have any number on the spam or blocked list. If your phone has a security software installed then you should also check its settings as it may be preventing your phone from displaying the received text messages.

Note 3 Delay In Receiving Text Messages

Problem: I’m not receiving messages right away. If someone texts me, I will receive it 6+ hours later. I can send messages and they will deliver but if I send a message to myself I will not get it. Any suggestions?

Solution: The first thing you should do is to restart your phone. This refreshes your phone connection to the network and may resolve this type of issue.

If the issue persists then contact your carrier and inquire if there are any network related problems in your area. You need to do this before troubleshooting further.

If the network is fine then try to use another SIM on your phone and see if the issue is still the same. If the problem disappears then your SIM may have an issue. If however the issue is still the same then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Note 3 Delay In Receiving Text Message

Problem: I can send out text messages but when people send me answers back I do not get them till the next day or hours later. I have tries factory setting, checked the blocked section, took out the battery and still nothing is working. Can anyone help… This is really annoying.

Solution: You should try contacting your carrier regarding this issue to rule out any network, SIM, or account related problems that may be causing this issue.

I’ve updated the sim card and am getting my emails faster but still have the delay in sending text messages. Any recommendations?
