Before you can use your Galaxy Tab S6, you will need to set it up properly. A basic set up will require you to connect the tablet to a network to have an Internet connection. Then you will need to log into your Google and Samsung accounts, although you can skip the latter and do it later in the Settings.
In this guide, I will show you how to set up your tablet so you can use it immediately. I hope that you can follow this tutorial properly as I will also be providing screenshots.
How To Set Up Your Galaxy Tab S6
Time Needed : 8 minutes
You may have to go through a lot of steps when setting up an Android device, but rest assured that every step is easy. Here’s how you do it:
- Choose language
The first thing that you have to do is to choose the language you want your device to use and once you’ve done that, tap the arrow to proceed with the set up.
- Agree to EULA and Privacy Policy
On the next screen, you will need to agree to the End User License Agreement and Privacy Policy but if you want to send Diagnostic Data or receive Marketing information, you may also select these options.
- Connect to a Network
To be able to proceed with the set up, you will need to connect your tab to the Internet. So choose the Wi-Fi network you want it to connect to, and enter the login credentials. When ready tap Connect, and wait until the device has successfully connected to the network.
- Copy data from another device
Wait for the device to finish checking for updates. This may take just a few seconds before bringing you to another screen.
On the next screen, you will be prompted whether or not to copy your data from another device, you may do so if you want, but in this guide, we will skip that. After all, you’ll be able to copy your files and data when the set up is finished. - Log in to your Google account
After checking some information, your tab will bring you to another screen. This time, you will be prompted to enter your Google ID and password to log in. It is important that you do this because that’s the only way you can download apps from the Play Store, as well as enjoy all the services on your Android tablet.
So enter your login credentials and tap Next when ready.
If you enabled the 2-factor authentication, you need to approve the login from your other device.
Once you’ve successfully logged into your account, agree to some Google agreements to continue. - Set up screen lock
On the next screen, you will be asked to set up a screen lock. For this tutorial, let’s skip it because you can set it up in the Settings later.
- Download recommended apps
Then you will be prompted to choose apps you want downloaded during the setup, you may choose some or simply skip it. You will be able to download them later after the set up.
You may also skip the installation of the recommended apps. - Log in to your Samsung account
At this point, you will be asked to log into your Samsung account. You may do so if you already have an account. Or, you can simply skip it and just log in later in the Settings. You will need to log in to this account to enjoy some features on your tablet, as well as download apps from the Galaxy Store. So we suggest you create a Samsung account if you haven’t already.
