S7 No Mobile Service After Software Update
Problem: A software update was installed last week. When completed, there was no mobile service. So no data, text or calls. Everything else worked. Brought into AT&T store, no solution. They suggested a hard reset. After ensuring backup was set, a factory reset was performed. However, after it finished, it got stuck in a loop of the “Samsung Galaxy S7 Powered By Android” screen with the blue LED solidly on, and a black screen with the blue light. This has gone on for hours. Won’t boot to safe mode, tried clearing cache and just about everything else. No water damage, phone nearing 1.5 years old. Should I just bring it to a repair shop and have them flash the memory? Thank you!
Solution: A factory reset will usually fix this no service problem which occurs after the phone software has been updated. Since the phone is now stuck on the Samsung logo after the reset you need to perform the steps listed below to fix the problem.
- Remove the microSD card of the phone if you have one installed.
- Connect the phone to its charger then let it charge for at least 20 minutes. Check if the phone turns on.
- Disconnect the phone from its charger then press and hold the power button and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this.
- Start the phone in recovery mode. From here wipe the cache partition of the phone then do a factory reset.
In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Stuck In Bootloop
Problem: hello. my phone decided to die today. i was cradling it along for a full year. this particular model is my fourth exchange with whatever company my ex was dealing with for deals. illegal backdoor sales through ebay via an anonymous page made by her and a colleague. i am no longer in contact with my ex nor do i have a working cellphone number.the s7 bit it approximately 4:20. that was around the time i turned it off. now to turn it on 10-15 min later i’m in an infinite bootloop. i tried to hard reset and soft reset…. this obviously did nothing. i just want it to stop blinking aka bootlooping. i use blinking here as if the phone is an eye and the screen is the eyelid. anyway…advice? since im broke and unemployed.
Solution: If your phone is stuck in a bootloop then the first thing that you will want to do is to remove the microSD card of the phone if you have one installed. Once this is done charge the phone first for at least 20 minutes using its wall charger then proceed with the steps listed below.
- Simulate a battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. If the phone is able to start in this mode then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Keeps On Restarting After Getting Wet
Problem: Hi, I am having an issue with my Galaxy S7. A few days ago I was down at the beach taking photos. I dropped my phone in about 5 to 6 inches of water. I managed to catch it before it fully submerged. I did my best to ensure the phone was completely dry afterwards. After about 5 to 10 minutes I started getting an error message about the camera, I can’t remember exactly what the message said but the camera app would no longer open. About an hour goes by and the phone started to cycle itself on and off. It did this a few times. It eventually got to the point where the phone would only load “SAM” in Samsung as it started to boot up. Gradually the graphics would only load “SA”, then “S”, then only parts of the “S” then nothing at all. I tried leaving the phone to charge for a while but nothing happens. The charging indicator does not show either. I have tired wired charging and wireless charging. In both cases the phone heats up but still does not respond or show the indicator light. I feel it is important to note that a couple of weeks ago the phones Wifi just stopped working for no apparent reason. It would just not cut on at all. Also, the phones battery would only last about 4 to 6 hours when not being used and it would randomly restart itself. I have considered maybe getting a replacement battery or maybe even purchasing a whole new phone but I thought I would get your advice on the matter before I spent any money. Thank you in advance! Also, as far as operating system, I picked Oreo in the drop down but I’m not 100% sure about that.
Solution: It’s very likely that water might have entered the phone. What you will want to do right now is to place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb any moisture inside the phone. If the issue still persists after this then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as it could already be suffering from water damage.
S7 Unknown Error when Logging in To Google Account
Problem: After using device for 2 days I had to factory reset for return to seller for exchange. My google account wasn’t removed so they sent it back to have me remove it but all I get now when I verify my account is “Unknown error try another account or wait for 24 hours”. I know it’s the right account and password. It registers the login in my gmail account, the device is in my devices list in gmail but I can’t verify the account. I did have a timeout on the first account verify after they returned it. Do I need to be on the same wifi network as the first attempt? Not 100% sure on the android version…
Solution: There might have been to many attempts done previously to bypass the Google account of the phone. Just wait for 24 hours until the security system resets again then try logging in to the phone using your Google account.
To remove the account
- Go to Apps.
- Tap on Settings.
- Tap the Lock screen and security section.
- Tap on Screen lock type.
- Type in your Pin, pattern or password.
- Tap on Swipe at the top.
- Tap Remove Data.
- Tap Remove.
- Go back to the main Settings screen, and tap Cloud and accounts.
- Tap on Accounts.
- Tap your Google account.
- Tap the three dots in the top-right corner.
- Tap Remove account.
- Tap Remove account again to confirm it.
S7 Photos And Videos Have Exclamation Mark
Problem: Photos and videos have exclamation mark issue, they have a completely blank grey photo screen when enlarged. I tried to transfer and open them with my PC but same results. Have even tried powering the phone off/on and clean the cache with no improvement. The couple of photos taken right afterwards were fine and then the problem occurred again. Lost quite a view precious moments and gutted.
Solution: When the photos and and videos have an exclamation mark on them they are most likely corrupted already. Are the photos stored in the microSD card of the phone? If they are then I suggest that you get a new card. In case these photos are stored in the internal storage of the phone then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset since this might be caused by a software glitch.
