S7 Turned Off During Software Update

Problem: I tried to do the software update and then halfway through, my phone turned off and won’t turn back on. I’ve tried the things you guys have said to try on your website, and I tried leaving it plugged in and even bought a brand new charger thinking maybe the charger wasn’t charging the phone – still nothing. No lights, no sounds or vibrations, nothing at all. Please help!

Solution: Assuming that the phone has just run out of battery charge what you need to do are the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris present in the port gets removed.
  • Perform a simulated battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.
  • Remove the microSD card of the phone if one is installed.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using its wall charger. If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port.
  • Turn on the phone.

In case your phone turns on there’s a possibility that it you might get some error as the software update has not been completed. To fix this you will need to start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Not Receiving Messages Through Messenger

Problem: Hi there, I am having problems receiving messages through messenger on my samsung galaxy S7. I can access messages through a desktop for messenger but not on my samsung s7. Please advise what I need to do. I have missed so many important messages delivered during the day which I cannot access until I get home at night.

Solution: What you will want to do in this case is to clear the cache and data of the messenger app then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will need to uninstall this app then instal a fresh version from the Google Play Store.

S7 Predictive Text Not Working On Google Search Bar

Problem: I have a brand new galaxy s7. Predictive text works when sending messages and even when typing this, however not when filling in the boxes below, or when searching on Google or it would appear typing anywhere else it doesn’t. Any ideas please

Solution: This issue appears to be caused by a software bug which should be fixed by an update. Try checking if a software update is available for your phone then update it accordingly. You can also perform the following troubleshooting steps listed below

  • Clear the cache and data of the keyboard app.
  • Try downloading and using a different keyboard. You can get the keyboard app from the Google Play Store.

S7 Not Making Calls

Problem: I’ve tried almost every solution possible even as much as accessing service mode to check bands. I have a Galaxy s7 Sm-G930FD (UNLOCKED) and after going BACK to my company in japan AU for a smaller sim card, we added to this phone and it won’t dial out. I can use data all day but I cant dial through my Japanese number. This is so frustrating because trying to use texting apps to message locals won’t go through without service. I don’t care about paying for help but no one seems to know how to resolve. Thank you.

Solution: Try checking with your carrier first and make sure that the SIM card that you are using is activated. You can also test this by placing the SIM card in another phone then checking if it can make calls from another phone.

If the SIM card does not have issues then it is time to troubleshoot the phone.

  • Check if an app you downloaded is causing the problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Make sure that your mobile data is activated and that you are getting an LTE signal. Try making a call.
  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S7 Screen Turns Off When Using Voice To Text

Problem: I have a Galaxy S7. When I use voice to text on my Galaxy S7 Google keyboard, it turns off the screen after 15 seconds as if there is no activity. Please let me know if there is a solutions to make it so that when using voice to text it sees that as activity and does not turn off the screen. Thanks

Solution: This issue could just be caused by a software glitch. Try restarting your phone then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then I recommend that you wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recover mode.

S7 Do Not Disturb Not Working

Problem: I have a Samsung S7 and in the past couple months have noticed that my Do Not Disturb has not been working properly. I have it set to only receive notifications from Favorites for text and phone calls when on and I’m hearing, or feeling if the vibrate option is on, all notifications. I’ve gone in, selected other options, cleared the cache, restarted the phone and nothing. I have set from 9pm-8am daily.

Solution: Try checking if this issue also occurs when the phone is started in Safe Mode.If it doesn’t occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what ap this is and uninstall it. In case the issue persists in Safe Mode then you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S7 Sluggish After Nougat Update

Problem: Ever since nougat update my battery life has been terrible and the phone is always sluggish. Also since latest security update I’m guessing when I get a text message it doesn’t show the little icon at the top, lockscreen,or in notification shade. It’s like the text sound comes on briefly then all visual indicators go away. Sometimes I don’t get them at all. Also some calls go straight to voicemail. It’ll say call forwarded. Also the missed call icon won’t show up at top, shade, or anywhere. I’ve checked all settings, cleared cache etc but nothing helps.

Solution: Since your phone is having multiple issues then this could be caused by old software data that has not been completely removed during the update process. The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete try checking if the issue still occurs.
