S7 Edge Frozen But LED Light Is On

Problem: I have really specific problem. My phone is frozen now, but the signal led lamp is still working. However, it does not respond to any kind of reset or power off/on options. I tried to reset it using power and volume down buttons. It is not working. As well as hard reset using volume up and home and power button. It is not responding to any kind of impulse. Screen is black now. I tried doing it during charging as well. I was using phone during my lectures and it just got to be like this… Really don’t know what to do anymore so please help me.

Solution: If performing a simulated battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for 10 seconds does not work then you will have to wait until the battery gets fully drained. Once the phone has drained connect it to its charger then let it charge for at least 20 minutes. Perform the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Press the power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this.
  • Try to check if you are able to start the phone in recovery mode. If the phone turns on then perform a factory reset from here. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Edge Restarting Automatically

Problem: s7 edge is restarting automatic. sometimes it turns on, sometimes it’s not. when it turns on, unable to detect both sim cards, already tried other sim cards, same results. camera error as well

Related Problem: My device keeps restarting and over time it turns off and wont turn on any key combination doesn’t work. Only the led indicator lights in blue and the phone is not responding

Solution: If your phone has a microSD card installed then try removing it first. If this card has some corrupt sectors then it can usually cause this kind of issue.

If your phone does not have a microSD card or if the issue still occurs even when the microSD card is removed then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone operates in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. Check if the issue still occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Edge Not Getting Software Update

Problem: HI, I have a galaxy S7 edge that i bought about a year ago, since then my phone haven’t updated the software, and when i check it manually it doesn’t recognize the update, I tried “samsung kies” and some other softwares from the computer but it didn’t work. I feel like some of the phone problems occur because of it and i couldn’t find a solution online. thank you for your help

Solution: There are several factors that your phone must meet first in order for it to get the official software updates. We have listed these below.

  • Your phone must not be rooted
  • Your phone must not be running on a custom software
  • If you had this phone unlocked then it should be running on its original network in order for it to access the update servers.

In case your phone meets the conditions listed above and it is still not getting any software update then I recommend that you try using the Smart Switch software to update your phone. It’s best if you backup your phone data then do a factory reset first before using Smart Switch.

If the phone still does not get any update then you should consider manually flashing the updated firmware file to your device. You can get this file from the Sammobile website which is also where you can get the instructions on how to flash your phone.

S7 Edge Message Could Not Be Sent Error

Problem: I have a s7 edge unlocked phone and i’m using straight talk as my provider. But ever since i got a security update 2 months ago everytime i send a regular text message i get a message back saying “message could not be sent” yet everyone does get my txt. So i get the error message for no reason. Straight talk says it not on their end so it must be my device that’s screwed up. I’ve tried all the easy answers like force stop the app cleared the data..i rather not do a factory reset but if u think thats my only issue then i guess i will. Well let me know what u think. Thanks

Solution: This is a known issue that is affecting several devices and is believed to be caused by a recent software update.

Some of the troubleshooting steps that phone owners have tried are as follows

  • Removing and reinserting SIM.
  • Restarting phone, with and without SIM.
  • Tried a different message app. (gives same error.)
  • Wiping Message cache.
  • Wiping system cache.
  • Wiping entire phone.

The above steps however will most likely not work. What you need to do right now is to get the latest software update that has been released for your phone which has the fix to this bug.

S7 Edge Accessing Phone When Screen Is Cracked

Solution: Unfortunately in this particular case you will need to have the display assembly of the phone replaced at a service center in order to gain full access to your phone.

S7 Edge Completely Dead After Installing Software Update

Problem: Hello, I have a S7 edge. And after installing an update in Android, the Phone turned off because battery was low, so I plugged it to recharge, at the beginning the charging seemed to be normal, since it showed me the battery image, but soon after the screen turned completely off and the lights of the 2 touch buttons (back key and recent apps key) remains on steady. The phone is completely dead it does not respond to the reset combos, pressing 2 and 3 keys to perform the soft reset and safe mode on. I hope you can help me. I’d like to attach a picture but I haven’t found an option to do it. Thank you a lot and best regards

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to remove the microSD card of the phone if you have one installed. Once this is done perform a simulated battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this.If it doesn’t then try starting the phone in recovery mode. From here you will need to do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
