S7 Edge Freezes Then Shuts Down
Problem: Hello Team… For almost two years now I have owned a Samsung S7 Edge. It is never off as it is my cellphone, landline, computer, camera and music machine. But unfortunately I think it has died for good. This is what it was recently doing. In a nutshell, it would be on say 100% power, suddenly freeze, then shut down. It didn’t matter what combination of buttons you did, it would not turn back on. Through the day it would stay warm, then suddenly hot for a while. Then it would cool right down. The next day it would need a full charge and it would successfully turn on again, and stay on for a while. Now it’s totally dead, does nothing, at all!. No charge up, combination of buttons does nothing. What’s gone wrong guys?, I’ve got so much in my phone I can no longer get to.
Solution: The best way to troubleshoot this problem is to first make sure that the battery of the phone has sufficient charge by following the troubleshooting steps listed below. I recommend removing the microSD card ( if you have one installed) before proceeding.
- Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port.
- Charge the phone using a wall charger.
- If the phone does not charge then you should try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also try charging the phone from a computer USB port.
- Turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.
In case this does not fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as the problem could be caused by a faulty battery or power IC.
S7 Videos Stored In microSD Card Not Playing
Problem: Hello! I just bought a new sd card, I transfer all my video from phone to sd card. I check the storage on sd card searching for video but only a few I can play, and see but other video give me an error please I need a solution or I am going to loose my newborn first video.
Solution: Try removing the microSD card from the phone then let your computer read the card. You will need a card reader to do this. If the videos are missing or do not play then the files might be corrupted due to some bad sectors in the card. You can try to retrieve the data stored in the card by using a data retrieval software. I would also suggest that you get a new microSD card.
S7 Edge Keeps Freezing
Problem: Hi, I have a samsung s7 edge which keeps freezing. Sometimes it freezes and restarts automatically other times I have to restart it myself. It also sometimes freezes when watching videos and makes a loud buzzing noise. I have tried putting the phone into safe mode but the freezing still occurs. I have tried wiping the cache partition but still no luck and finally I have done a complete factory reset and backed up all my files and apps but still the phone freezes. I have deleted all pictures and Music from the phone and still continues to freeze. Have no idea on what else I could do to fix this issue. The phone does not have a SD card in it either. Any help would be great. Thanks
Solution: If you have already performed a factory reset and the phone does not have a microSD card yet it still freezes then this could already be a hardware component that is failing to work properly. The best way to proceed in this case is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Edge Freezes Unless Phone Is Restarted
Problem: Hi, i have a problem with Samsung S7 Edge mobile it is freezing and stop working until and unless i restart the phone can you please help me out of this issue. Thanks
Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this particular case is to remove the microSD card of the phone (if you have one installed) then check if the issue still occurs. If your phone does not have a microSD card or if the issue persists even with the card removed then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone operates in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. Check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
S7 Edge Screen Not Turning On
Problem: Screen will not turn on even after all your steps. No logo nothing. The phone did over heat the other day to extent had to turn off to cool down.
Solution: If you have already performed all of our recommended troubleshooting steps for this particular issue and the issue still occurs then you should have this checked at a service center as this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component.
S7 Edge Not Charging Not Turning On
Problem: My phone was not charging or turning on I followed the steps you said with the volume up button home and power it came on saying rebooting then a blue warning sign appeared in it went back off in haven’t successfully came back on since
Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to make sure that the battery has sufficient charge. Try charging the phone first for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger. Turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. In case the phone does not respond then you will need to have this checked at a service center.
S7 Edge Not Getting Software Update
Problem: Hi, I have a galaxy s7 edge and whenever i try to update, when checking for software updates, it says the latest updates have been installed current version: G935FXXU1BPH6/ G935FOJV1BPH3/ G935FXXU1BPH1. I have tried factory reset followed by clearing cache partition but that didn’t work. please help.
Solution: Try connecting your phone to a computer with Smart Switch installed then check if an update is available. If no update can be found then you should consider flashing the updated stock firmware file to your phone using Odin. You can get this file from the Sammobile website which is also where you can get the instructions on how to flash your phone.
S7 Edge Screen Is Green
Problem: I was watching a video on Facebook, when suddenly the green starting to fall on my screen and then it was all covered with green spots and now it is either bright white or green or pink and I didn’t know how to turn t off on the first place or if I did succeed in turning it off. The remove-the-battery solution is no solution for Galaxy edge, because I cannot remove the cover of the battery!!!
Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this case is to restart the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. If the issue persists after the restart then I suggest that you perform a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that your phone data will be erased in the process.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
