S6 Stuck In Ultra Power Saving Mode

Problem: Dear Team, I am facing issue with a Ultra Power savings mode of my Samsung S6 phone. Few days back my phone battery was draining abruptly in order to save the battery life I switched on the ultra power savings mode. After a day or two I could not see the notification panel to switch off my UPSM it just disappeared. I can not operate any app in my phone all the apps are now hidden my phone has become redundant as I have only following options in Setting – Volume, Brightness, Airplane Mode, Wifi and Bluetooth. How do I got back to the normal applications and get back from Ultra Power Savings Mode. Pls guide

Related Problem: i have enabled ultra power saving mode when i had very low battery level and once it was up with the black screen with big icons i clicked on phone for which the phone rebooted and showed the lock screen in grey and no apps except whatsapp.  tried going to setting very limited options like wifi, bluetooth, mobile networks that’s it. when i connect phone to a laptop via usb it says cannot connect when upsm is on. tried doing soft reset and restart its a no go. this happens just a week after update to android 6. any help to recover my phone coz i have tonnes of pictures in it.

Related Problem: For the version, it’s 5.10.32.19.arm64 — cannot exit Ultra Power Saving Mode — Tried the Ultra Power Saving Mode on a Galaxy S6 32GB phone, no options to turn the damn feature off — insidious —  Have tried reboot in Safe Mode — per your suggestions below, under my present setting, there is no Battery Setting — only Wi-Fi / Bluetooth / Airplane / Mobile Networks / Location / Sounds / Brightness are available — want to hurt the developer that did this with no exit from this feature. Thanks

Solution: When your phone is in ultra power saving mode it turns of non-essential applications to conserve battery life and the screen will turn black and white. Activating this mode is easy since all you need to do is go to the phone Settings – Battery – Ultra Power Saving Mode – Tap the switch to turn it on.  To turn off this feature just tap on More on the homescreen then touch on Turn off ultra power saving mode.

Sometimes, a glitch in the phone software will prevent you from getting out of ultra power saving mode such as the issues that we have above. In this case, try going to Settings – Personalization – Easy Mode. Once in this mode you should be able to see the UPSM screen with the option to turn it off.

Another way of resolving this issue  is by starting the phone in Safe Mode. In this mode try to switch off the ultra power saver mode. If you are prompted to choose a launcher you should choose Launcher instead of TouchWiz.

If the above steps fail to resolve the problem then you will need to perform a factory reset. Take note that this will delete your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy before proceeding with this step.

S6 Only Charges When Connected To Laptop

Problem: My phone won’t charge when I plugged it in, I also tried different chargers but nothing has worked. It only charges when it’s connected to my laptop.

Solution: If you already tried different chargers and different charging cords then this could already be a hardware related issue most probably caused by a faulty phone charging port. You should however check if the phone software has anything to do with this problem by backing up your phone data then doing a factory reset. After the reset if the issue still persists then I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.

S6 Does Not Charge

Problem: My S6 was charging properly. Then last Sunday when I charged it it did not respond. Then after several hours it charged. Now it’s happening again its not charging only charging for few minutes a day with the power bank but after very long tentatively. I did reboot it but nothing happened.

Solution: For issues where the phone charges intermittently try to follow the troubleshooting steps listed below. Move to the next step if the current step you performed fails to resolve the issue.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air or cotton bud dipped in alcohol.
  • Use a different charging cord. You might be using a faulty charging cord as this easily gets damaged especially if it is constantly coiled or bent.
  • Use a different charging block
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the issue still persists after performing the above steps then I suggest you have your phone checked at an authorized service center.

S6 Only Charges After Factory Reset

Problem: Phone will only take charge directly after factory reset. Phone would not take charge, tried all troubleshooting listed on this site. Finally completed reset. Phone took charged. Then the next time it died, would not take charge again until after factory reset. No water damage, port looks ok…. please help. Thank You

Solution: Here’s what you need to do. Backup your phone data then do another round of factory reset. This time don’t install anything in your phone yet after the reset. Let the battery of your phone become low then charge it again. It’s either your phone will charge or it won’t charge at all. If your phone charges then the problem could be caused by a third party app you installed in your device.

If the phone does not charge then this could already be a hardware related problem in which case you should have your phone checked at an authorized service center. Before bringing in your phone make sure to perform the troubleshooting steps listed below to cover all of your bases.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air or cotton bud dipped in alcohol. Check if the issue still occurs.
  • Replace the charging cord and the charger that you are using. Check if the problem still occurs.

S6 Randomly Turns Off Does Not Turn On

Problem: my phone randomly turned off and now it wont turn on or respond to any reboot or charge, the screen remains blank and leds do not come on, ive tried everything

Solution: Try to simulate a battery pull first by pressing and holding down together  the power and volume down button for at least 7 seconds. Next, leave your phone charging for at least 20 minutes. Try to turn on the phone. If it still does not turn on then you should bring it to an authorized service center and have it checked.
