S7 Edge Not Charging Due To Moisture Detected
Problem: So while on the beach I had my device sitting sitting in a backpack next to me. I decided to head down to the other end of the beach for a few moments. However, I came back to realize the tide had came in and a few waves washed up onto my bag causing everything including my device to be soaked. I did my best with the resources on hand to dry it out. At first when I would plug it in there was no response other than a black screen with a battery and blue LED light, but the battery would never charge. It would seem to attempt to power up but shut right back off. So I left it out to dry all night hoping to see a different screen in the morning. When I checked in the morning it was showing the same signs at first, not fully powering up but It did once power up as normal and took me to my home screen which worked fine, but immediately shut off since it had no battery. I was able to get it to my home screen once again with 3% battery and I got the notification that the charging port detected moisture. I’ve had it sitting in a bowl of rice for a while and had it drying out overnight so I don’t understand how there could still be moisture in the port. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Solution: You will usually get the moisture detected error message if moisture has been detected inside the phone. If placing the phone in rice for at least 48 hours doesn’t work then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
You should however try doing the troubleshooting steps listed below before bringing the phone to a service center.
- Try cleaning the charging port using a can of compressed air.
- Charge the phone using a different charging cord
- Charge the phone using a different wall charger.
S7 Edge Not Charging
Problem: Won’t turn on black screen with blue solid led lit. Before this phone kept rebooting itself and getting hot with no network. I’ve tried all button pressing from Google with no response. Phone not charging. Phone around 3 months old. Please help
Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to make sure that the phone battery is charged since a phone with a drained battery will not turn on. Follow the steps listed below to charge you phone.
- Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port.
- Charge the phone using different charging cords. Check if the phone has a charging indicator.
- Try using a different wall charger. Check if the phone has a charging indicator.
- Try charging your phone through a computer USB port.
- Try charging your phone using a wireless charger.
If the phone does not charge then you will need to have this checked at a service center.
S7 Edge Stuck In Boot Screen
Problem: i have a galaxy s7 edge from t mobile i have it rooted with fireflash i put a rom on it called echoe rom it worked fine booted up fine then i tryed to download a app that i had to download xplode first so i downloaded xplode then had to restart my phone so i did after that it wouldn’t boot up stuck on echoe rom starting screen and just stays stuck. I tried to wipe cache,re root, factory reset, reinstall stock firmware, recovery from bootloader, and same thing stuck at echoe rom screen when i try the apply from sd or adb it says update from external storage disabled when i factory reset in the middle of it it says E: failed to mount/preload (no such file or directory) then data wipe complete but now that i factory reset i cant use adb because i think usb debugging is off and i can’t get into safe mode so is there anyone who can help me please
Solution: The best way to resolve this issue is to flash the stock firmware back to your phone.
- Download the correct firmware file for your phone.
- Extract the firmware file to folder c:\Odin
- Download the latest Odin version
- Extract Odin ZIP file to folder c:\Odin
- Open Odin
- Reboot Phone in Download Mode
- Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
- Add the firmware files to their designated slots
- Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
- Click the start button, sit back and wait few minutes
If the issue above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Edge Randomly Restarts
Problem: Phone Bought in US.. and came to india.. that’s where the issues started. Phone would randomly hang and restart until last night when it died completely. So tried the force restart by holding volume down and power button. It would display samsung galaxy s7 edge, and again for at this point.
Solution: Do you have a microSD card installed in your phone? If you do then try removing this as this might be causing the problem.
Another factor that can cause this problem is the phone software. To troubleshoot the software follow the steps listed below.
- Try starting the phone while it is connected to its charger
- Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. This erases the temporary system data which could be causing the problem.
- Start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.
If the above steps fail to fix the problem then I suggest you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Edge Not Charging Properly
Problem: hi recently my Samsung s7 edge wont charge properly or fast charge I am using a genuine charger and it is still saying that I need to use a factory charger etc it was on charge over 12 hours yesterday and it was still only showing 70% charge is their anything I can do to fix this? Thanks
Solution: Try cleaning the charging port of your phone as dirt or debris stuck in the port can cause this issue. You should also try using a different charging cord then a different wall charger if the issue still occurs after cleaning the port.
S7 Edge Unresponsive with Black Screen
Problem: I picked up my s7 edge from the table & it completely unresponsive with a black screen , no led lights & doesn’t respond to being connected to the charger . I tried all the different button combinations to perform a reset on the device however I have no luck getting it to turn back on. If there is any advice u can give to help resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated. I always seem to get the worst luck with smart phones
Solution: If your phone is unresponsive then try doing a simulated battery pull first. This is done by pressing and holding down both the power button and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. The phone should restart after this. If it doesn’t then follow the steps listed below.
- Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air.
- Try using a different charging cord when charging your phone.
- Try using a different wall charger.
- Try wirelessy charging your phone.
- Try charging your phone through a computer USB port.
If the above steps don’t work then you should have your phone checked at a service center.
S7 Edge Stuck On Boot Screen
Problem: Hello! I used my Samsung s7 edge for the first time today. The battery showed up 15% charge. So I connected it to the charger . It suddenly got blank and showed a black screen. After a while it just showed the writings (Samsung galaxy s7 edge ) on screen. It remained the same for minutes so I thought of rebooting the phone. It doesn’t restart now. Please help me out with this. Thank you!
Solution: If your phone has a microSD card removed then try removing it then check if the phone will turn on. If it doesn’t then do a simulated battery pull by pressing and holding down the power button and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. If the phone does not restart then try charging it then check if you can see the charging indicator. If the phone doesn’t charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger.
If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
