S6 Not Turning On With Blue LED Light After Phone Got Dropped

Problem: Hi, I have a Samsung s6 I dropped it as I was going to stand up it hit against the wall then the floor , It has the blue light constantly on above and to the left of the Samsung logo. It was more than 50% charged I’m sure, it had a blue glitch on the left hand side of the screen every few minutes, I tried to restart it (holding volume, power buttons) nothing happened, I plugged it into the wall to charge and the blue light went red then i pressed the home button to see if it came back on and the red light went away now it’s back to blue light ,only glitches now if i try to restart it again,do you know how i can fix it?

Solution: This already appears to be a hardware related issue already most likely caused by an internal component getting damaged when the phone was dropped. The best thing that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode. If the phone works in this mode then there’s a chance that the problem could be software related in which case you will need to perform a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

In case the issue still occurs even in recovery mode then the best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Cannot Receive Phone Calls

Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy S6. I have had it for about 2 years now. Pretty solid phone but lately I am noticing that I am having to use Wi-Fi for calls much more than I have ever before. Additionally, I could have 2-3 bars on my phone and cannot receive phone calls. I have had numerous occasions of family telling me that they tried to call me and my phone went straight to voicemail. When I would call them back it said that a call could not be made despite having those 2 to sometimes even 4 bars (My phone would sometimes just hang up). I have not moved and still travel to the same places I traveled to 2 years ago (ie work/school/home). When I went into the T-Mobile store to inquire about it, he just told me that I needed to turn my phone off more often. I have done that and still nothing is happening. I have also had my phone restart at random times for no reason. Should I save up the money for a new phone? What is the point of having a phone if the simplest feature of receiving a phone call may or may not happen?!

Solution: Restarting your phone is one of the first troubleshooting steps that you need to do in this particular case as it resets the phone connection to the network and refreshes the software. Since this does not fix the problem then you need to proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone operates in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. Check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

In case the issue still occurs even after performing the steps listed above then you should have your phone checked at a service center as this could already be a hardware related problem.

S6 Randomly Shuts Off Not Turning Back On

Problem: I have had a Galaxy S6 for the past two years. It’s had its share of minor glitches and freezes. But yesterday it started to randomly shut off and not turn back on. Sometimes it will turn all the way on and sometimes just get to the startup screen( Samsung/Verizon screens). I have tried the safe mode, regular reset, and did the factory reset. It still turns on and shuts off randomly… I did wash my otter box yesterday, as I’ve done many times in the past. I do let it dry for awhile before putting it back into the case.. The only thing I can think of is, some moisture got into the phone somehow and possibly bricked it…. Any ideas?

Solution: If a factory reset does not fix the problem then this is most likely caused by an internal component that is failing to work properly. The possible suspects are a battery that is not providing the correct voltage or a power IC that’s faulty. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Reboots When Connecting To Wi-Fi

Problem: My Samsung Galaxy S6  DUOS keeps restarting when I connect to a wireless connection. Everything else works normally but for about a month now every time I connect to a wifi it automatically reboots itself.

Solution: Have you tried checking if the issue occurs when the phone tries to connect to different Wi-Fi networks? If it occurs on any Wi-Fi network then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S6 Keyboard App Stops Working

Problem: hi, I have an issue with my Samsung galaxy S6, I have an app that allows me to change my keyboard, so I have that instead of the normal Samsung keyboard, very occasionally it would stop working, which requires me to go onto the app and choose it again, and very occasionally also, the Samsung keyboard would stop working, i’ve always got it going again but I need to unlock my phone,  because my phone died, it needed my password to first unlock it (I normally use my fingerprint) so my other keyboard stopped working, then halfway through typing my password, the Samsung keyboard stopped working, ive restarted it but I cannot turn it off because I need to unlock my phone. please help. I am not sure of my android version so I chose ‘other’ If you need any more information please ask. Many thanks.

Solution: Since this problem occurs when you are using the stock and downloaded keyboard apps then what you need to do first is to start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the problem occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

In case the issue still occurs in Safe Mode then you need to perform the following steps.

  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S6 Asks for Password

Problem: I turned it off last night and put it on charge when I turned it on this morning it ask for a password, as I have had it a few year and never used a password I cannot open it up, it is stuck on emergency calls only. I notice below on your form you ask for the operating system well I don’t know what it is so I have just picked one to get the form processed.

Solution: This is the security feature of the phone that protects the device from unauthorized use. If you have forgotten the password then you can unlock the phone using your Google account credentials.

S6 Stuck In Easy Mode

Problem: I just got this  from a friend who was upgrading. I have been using it for about a month with no issues at all. Today, however, I was going through the User Guide to try and do something and the phone reset to something I’ve never seen before. Before this happened I had four pages full of apps like phone, messaging, email and many other applications I use frequently. Now, the only three icons it has are email, a round blue and white globe, and the standard Chrome icon. And this is on the screen at bootup AND the only page I can even access. I desperately need my phone to stay in touch with relatives in south Texas where the hurricanes were. I wish you could call and maybe walk me through how to get everything back, but I have no phone icon. THANK YOU!

Solution: It’s very likely that your phone is running in Easy Mode. To change this just follow the steps listed below.

  • From the home screen, swipe left.
  • Tap Easy settings.
  • Tap Easy Mode.
  • Tap Standard mode.
  • Tap Done.
