S6 Edge Text Messages Not Sent Has Spinning Circle

Problem: Everytime I send a text message, it shows as “sending” and has the spinning circle next to my messages. However, people are responding to my texts, and are receiving them fine. So I guess the phone is technically working, but for some reason my messages don’t show as “sent” sometimes until days later… even though people are receiving and responding.

Solution: Since your text messages are being sent out then it’s safe to say that the problem is not caused by some network problem. We will then concentrate our troubleshooting to the phone itself.

The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to clear the cache and data of the text messaging app from the application manager. Sometimes this app will accumulate a lot of temporary data and if this data gets corrupt then this kind of problem can occur.

In case the issue persists then the next step is to check if an app you installed is causing the problem. To do this just start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue still occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should proceed with the steps listed below.

  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S6 Edge IMS Service Has Stopped After Software Update

Problem: i have update my samsung galaxy S6 edge to the latest software update, since then i get a pop up “IMS Service has stopped” tried everything including safe mode and still the same problem, vodafone said that everything is running correctly from their end

Solution: To fix the IMS service has stopped error you will need to clear the cache and data of the text messaging app first from the application manager. If the issue persists and since this occurred right after a software update then it’s very likely that this is caused by old software data that has not been completely removed during the update process. You will need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset to fix this problem.

S6 Edge No Notifications When Text Messages Arrive

Problem: Hello, I recently noticed that I am no longer having an audible notification for new text messages, I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and have checked all settings available, restarted my device several times, as well as I’ve shut it down completely for 10+ minutes and rebooted to no avail. Hope you might be able to lend some insight! Thank you!

Related Problem: I updated my phone this morning n since then my sms notifications don’t work. The other notifications do work fine. I’ve checked the volume n all over settings and still don’t work. Only makes one vibration when I get a text.

Solution: What you will want to do first is to make sure that the phone is not set to silent mode. Turn the volume all the way up for the notification setting. You should also make sure that the notifications for text messages are properly set.

  • Open the Messages app
  • Tap the menu icon ( three dots in the upper right)
  • Tap Settings
  • Tap Notification Switch and make sure that it is On
  • Tap Notifications
  • Tap Sound then select an option
  • Tap the Back button
  • Tap the Switches and choose your prefered option

If the issue still persists then try to check if it occurs when your phone is started in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t occur in this mode then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

In case the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then you should consider doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

S6 Edge Not Receiving Calls And Text Messages

Problem: Over the last few days I am not being able to receive any incoming calls, is going straight to my voicemail, also not being able to receive any incoming text messages, also can’t access any emails (not showing any descriptions ), never had this problem, have been reading there has been an update. Please can you give me any advice

Solution: What you need to do first in this case is to check and make sure that your phone has a good network signal. Restart your phone so that it will reset its connection to the network and also refresh the phone software. Once this is done check if the issue still occurs. If it does then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Contact your carrier and inquire if there are any network related problems in your area. You should also ask if you have any account related issues that could cause this problem.
  • Check if an app you installed is causing the problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be a hardware related problem.
