Note 8 Touchscreen Intermittently Not Working

Problem: Samsung note 8 – cap touch intermittent, s- pen works fine. I’ve tried soft reset using the power and volume down keys, sometimes this corrects it for a short time but then it returns. I’ve tried safe mode and the problem persists. I’ve also tried clearing the cache af few times with about 50% success. At this point I’m relatively certain this is likely some kind of hardware issue but the occasional successes I’ve had with software fixes makes me hesitant to open the phone and check out hardware. I do have some experience disassembling newer generation smartphones that are “laminated” together with adhesive, which is why I hesitate until i can positively confirm this is hardware b/c its a real pain to disassemble. I’m not convinced yet that this is a hardware issue. Suggestions for something more empirical with consistent results?

Solution: Does your phone have a screen protector installed? If it does then try removing it as this might be causing the problem. You should also try to eliminate any software related glitches that could be causing this problem by doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. In case it does then it’s likely that the digitizer of the phone is faulty. The best thing to do in this scenario is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 8 Software Update Gets Interrupted

Problem: I have a samsung galaxy Note 8. I recently downloaded a system update. When it starts installing, it stops at 32% then starts again. It keeps in this loop all through. It’s not recognized when connected to a computer USB port. I’ve tried hard resetting (Volume down then  power button) but it doesn’t work. What can I do to have this issue resolved

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode then wipe the cache partition of the device. Once this is done restart the phone then do the software update process again. In case the issue still persists then it’s time to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete you should now be able to successfully update your phone software OTA.

Regarding the issue of the phone not being recognized by your computer when it is connected to the USB port ( which is important if you want to update the phone using Smart Switch) you should try the following troubleshooting steps listed below which should fix the problem.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air.
  • Try using a different USB cord when connecting the phone to the computer.
  • Try connecting the phone to a different USB port.
  • Try using a different computer.

Note 8 No SIM Card Error When It Is Cold

Problem: My Samsung galaxy note 8 says no sim card when its in cold temperature or when it is cold. But when it is in normal temperature or environment it works fine. When it says no sim card in cold environment or when phone is cold, i have to rub my phone to get warm then it works usually. I don’t know what’s the problem. Could you please help me on this?

Solution: The first thing you need to do in this case is to eliminate the possibility of the problem being caused by a faulty SIM card by inserting a different SIM in your phone. In case the problem persists then the next step is to check if this is caused by a software glitch. Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check if the issue still occurs. If it does then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 8 Crashes Then Reboots

Problem: Samsung Galaxy Note 8 keeps crashing down. When the phone is switched on it works for certain minutes the it freezes and crashes down but reboots itself every time. Sometimes the screen is blue and it says “Software Update”, then after few seconds “no command”. Whilst that is happening it gets very warm and the battery is less charged every time it’s on again. I already did a soft reboot and a cache wipe.

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. This will allow you to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. If the issue still persists after the reset then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
