J7 Turns Off Automatically

Problem: Samsung Galaxy J7 Duo was working fine for 1 1/2 years. This week it started to turn off automatically and I was not able to turn it on again without connecting the charger. Charging level showed 85%. After charging it to 100% I disconnected the charger and could use the phone until it switched off by itself again. I had to connect the charger again to get it started and the charging level said 96%. This happened again and again until when connecting the charger the charging status was only blinking in short intervals. I disconnected the charger and did all the reviving tips (reset the battery status right up to reset to manufacture status). Nothing helped. Now I left it overnight connected to a not connected (switched off) charger. This morning it was working for about an hour and switched off again. Now it is only blinking the charging status, when connected to the charger. It is impossible to switch on. Please help. Any ideas how to discharge the battery without the phone? Or is the battery flat and I need a new one?

Thanks for any ideas!

Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to simulate a battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If it doesn’t restart then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone with a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in it gets removed.
  • Charge your phone for at least 20 minutes using its wall charger. In case the phone charges then try turning it on.
  • If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger.
  • You should also try to check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port.

In case the phone does not charge and turn on then it’s very likely that this is already caused by a faulty hardware component possibly the battery. The best thing that you can do in this case is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

If however the phone charges and turns on then I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone just yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

J7 Can’t Access Photos With Exclamation Mark

Problem: I have difficulty recovering pictures that are covered and with punctuation mark.  I do not understand as my phone have sufficient space of its available space in the J7 prime unit and the sd card.   i don’t know what happened… I tried to do a soft reboot as directed on Samsung troubleshooting of lost pictures….

Solution: If the photos have an exclamation mark then the file is most likely corrupt. If the photos are saved in a microSD card then try removing this card and let your computer read it. You will need a card reader to do this. If the computer can’t read the photo files then they are confirmed to be corrupt. You can try to recover the photo files by using a file recovery software in your computer however take note that this is not guaranteed to work.

To prevent your photos from being corrupted I recommend that you use a new microSD card on your phone or just set the camera to save the photos in the internal storage of the phone.

J3 Does Not Turn On

Problem: I tried to reset my phone while the charging was 12%, To reset my phone i clicked Volume Up +Home+ Power Button. And my screen Shut down, I tried switching on my phone in different ways but i could not switch on my phone. I tried all these below mentioned Keys to switch on my Phone.

  1. Volume Up+Home+Power
  2. Volume Down+Home+Power

For Volume Down+Home+Power It shows a screen like Downloading and and i press Volume Down that is restart, but it vibrates and shows samsung j7 prime and go to sleep. For Volume Up+Home+Power, there is no response at all. I also charged my phone for more that 2hrs, but nothing happened.

Solution: What you will want to do right now is to make sure that the battery of your phone has sufficient charge. Follow the troubleshooting steps listed below to ensure that the phone has charge.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port is removed.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes.
  • If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger.
  • You should also check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port.
  • Turn on the phone.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

J7 Stuck In Boot Logo

Problem: I accidently deleted a photo album with all my pictures. I was told to download something to retrieve the pictures. I downloaded the program but now it stopped working completely. The only screen that comes up is a black screen and it flashes ” Samsung Galaxy J7″ an employee at t mobile tried to reboot the system, a wipe data/factory reset and a few other things and nothing worked.

Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try removing it then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Simulate a battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this.
  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should consider flashing your phone with its stock firmware file. You can get this file from the Sammobile website which is also where you can get the instructions on how to flash your phone.

J7 Getting Jumbled Text Messages From One Contact

Problem: I have a samsung J7, and I get messages from my friend (with an iPhone 6s Plus) that come in 2-4 messages and are always jumbled up. I have to Unscramble them. This doesn’t happen with anyone else but her. What can I do?

Solution: To fix this problem try clearing the cache and data of the text messaging app from the application manager. Once this is done delete the text conversation thread of the affected contact then check if the issue still occurs.

J7 Text Messaging Sending Failed

Problem:  activated my service /phone on 10/1/2017.  On 10/2/2017 I tried sending a text message and kept getting message failed.  I asked my wife to send me a text and no text was received.  I have been on the phone and chat with Tracfone (service provider).  They concluded that their system/activation shows that my service should be working.  They concluded it has to be the phone.  The phone is brand new. Your help is appreciated.

Solution: If your account is already active then try to restart your phone. This will reestablish the phone connection to the network and will usually fix this particular problem.
