J7 Call Gets Disconnected Issue
Problem: Hello my Samsung j7 Galaxy phone recently started having problems with its calling for example when I call someone it automatically stops the call it doesn’t even go to voicemail and the receiver of the call hears the ringtone only for one second. I also cannot receive calls from other people. Please help me this is really frustrating thank you.
Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to make sure that you are in an area with good signal coverage. If your phone is getting a low signal from the network then this could affect the quality of your calls. Next, try to verify with your carrier if there are any issues with your account or the network which could prevent you from making calls.
If you have already cleared the above conditions then it’s time to troubleshoot the phone by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Try removing the SIM card from your phone and insert it in another device. Check if the issue occurs on this other device. If it does then you might need to have your SIM card replaced.
- Check if the issue occurs when the phone is started in Safe Mode. When the phone operates in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
In case the issue still persists even after performing the troubleshooting steps listed above then this might already be caused by a faulty hardware component. The best thing to do in this case is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
J7 Will Not Turn Off
Problem: My Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime won’t turn OFF. When I press and hold the power button, the Google Assistant opens and stays. The only way I can turn it off is to remove the battery.
Solution: There’s a possibility that this problem is caused by a software glitch. I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete check if you are able to turn off the phone using the power button.
If the issue persists then the power button of your phone might be damaged. You will need to have this checked at a service center.
J7 Screen Flickers Pink Orange
Problem: I have a Samsung J7 and a couple months ago my phone began to flicker Orange before the screen would go to sleep or when I pressed the power button. now it flickers violently a pink and orange and it sometimes takes a while to turn on. when I plug it in to charge, sometimes the screen won’t turn on but it is still functioning and I can still hear my notifications. my phone is only about a year old and I got it from Walmart, but my carrier is Metropcs.
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode then from here perform a factory reset. This way you will be able to eliminate any software glitches that could be causing this problem. In case the issue persists or if the screen won’t turn on in recovery mode then the problem is most likely caused by a faulty display assembly. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.
J7 Warning Camera Failed Error
Problem: I have been receiving the “WARNING: Camera Failed” message off and on for quite some time now. I went through the instructions that you posted above and it didn’t seem to do anything at all. Just trying to touch bases on this matter because I’m completely lost . (Also I have no idea what the Android version is)
Solution: If you are getting a camera failed error on your phone the first thing that you will need to do is to clear the cache and data of the camera app from the application manager. This will allow you to check if the problem is caused by a glitch in the app. In case the issue persists then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
In case the issue still occurs after performing the steps listed above then the problem could be caused by a faulty camera module. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.
J7 Failed To Update Software
Problem: I tried to install a software update but the process suddenly stopped, restarted my phone (Galaxy J7) and then displayed a message that said “failed to update software – contact samsung service center”
Solution: What you should do in this case is to wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode. Restart the phone then check if the issue still occurs. You will need to update your phone software again once this is done.
In case the issue persists then backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete perform the update again. You should also try updating your phone using Smart Switch.
J7 Call Goes To Voicemail
Problem: I received a J7 (Unlocked) for Christmas. I can call out no problem, however no one can call in. The call goes directly to voicemail. I have tried call forwarding, its turned off, I have reset the phone, taken the battery out, taken out the sim card and I still can’t receive calls, they just go directly to voicemail. I am not sure if its because the phone is AT&T or if its because I have a pay as you plan, which I was told as long as the phone is unlocked it will work with the sim card or if I need to do a factory reset or if I need a new sim card, I have no idea what the problem is, can you help me?
Solution: Try inserting your SIM card in another phone then check if the calls still go to voicemail. If it does then this is an account related issue in which case you will need to contact AT&T regarding this matter. If however the calls can be received then the problem is with the phone. I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete try to check if the issue still occurs. If it does then this could already be a hardware related problem in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
J7 Google Play Store Crashes Even After Factory Reset
Problem: I wiped my samsung J7 after buying it from another user..when i tried to use google play store, it brought the unfortunately google play store has stopped message. i tried every troubleshoot solution for that problem but it didn’t work so i uninstalled it. now, when i reinstall it,it immediately crashes upon opening it….HELP!!!!!…..and google play services can’t even get installed..its brings something about a parse error
Solution: If the issue occurs even after a factory reset then you should try updating your phone software. If the phone is already running on the latest update then you should consider flashing your phone with its updated firmware file using Odin. You can get the firmware file from the Sammobile website which is also where you can get the instructions on how to flash your phone.
