J3 Has Lines On Screen

Problem: I’m having issues with my screen I just bought the phone a little over 2 weeks ago and i dropped it once during the first week of buying the phone. Just this week I noticed lines on the screen. There’s no physical damage to the phone nor is the screen cracked. The touchscreen still works. what’s wrong with the screen and what can be done?

Solution: It looks like the drop might have damaged the display. The best way to troubleshoot this problem is to check  if this is caused by a software glitch. Follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. When the phone operates in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. Check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then it’s very likely that this is already a hardware related issue possibly caused by a damaged display. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

J3 Will Not Turn On

Problem: My samsung  galaxy j3 will not turn on.  When I unplug it from the charger it displays 100% charged. I’ve pulled out the battery and tried to reset it and it still won’t turn on.

Related Problem: My mums phone has shut down, it won’t come back on but it flashed green at the bottom and then had a thin white bar/line. Her phone is a j3 samsung galaxy, she tends to forget to properly close the apps she’s used and leaves them running in the background. She’s a very forgetful woman. If there’s anything you can think of please let me know. P.s: incase you were wondering, we did take out the battery for ten seconds and then put it back

Related Problem: i left my phone open and then when i woke up my phone won’t turn on even though i charged 1 hour still see a black screen and no signs charging so i searched about it and I’ve tried the soft reset and all kinds of troubleshooting I saw on the internet but it failed. what will i do now on my phone?? help me please asap because i’m waiting an important message please..

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to remove the battery and microSD card of the phone then press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This will discharge the phone circuit and clear its RAM. Once this is done reinsert just the battery then turn on the phone. If the issue persists then follow the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port.
  • Connect the phone to its wall charger and let it charge for at least 20 minutes.
  • If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port.
  • Try turning on the phone.

If the issue persists then try getting a new battery. If this does not work then the problem might already be caused by an internal component that is failing to work. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

J3 Screen Becomes Unresponsive After Drop

Problem: My dad dropped his J3 and the screen has become unresponsive, can’t see any damage other than 2 white lines down the screen.  Would this be the display cable problem?  Would a novice be able to follow a video to fix it?

Solution: If the issue occurred after a drop then the problem could be caused by a faulty display. If you have the correct tools available to open the phone then you can check if the display cable is loose. Before doing this though try to check if the problem is software related by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Remove the battery and microSD card of the phone. Press and hold the power button for at least a minute then reinsert just the battery. Turn on the phone then check if the issue still occurs.
  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the problem occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then an app you downloaded could be causing the problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this could already be a hardware related issue in which case you can try to open the phone and check if or bring it to a service center.

J3 Touchscreen Is Unresponsive

Problem: A Galaxy J3  was given to me. IT WILL START, OPEN TO SWIPE SCREEN. TOUCH screen DOES NOT FUNCTION. I HAVE LEARNED TO REBOOT .i CAN GET IT TO THE REBOOT OS GREEN SCREEN. BUT THE VOLUME UP BUTTON IS NOT FUNCTIONING, SO I CAN NOT PROCEED. FRIEND ONLY HAD IT A FEW MONTHS.

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset from here. Take note that this will erase your phone data. If the issue persists then this could already be a hardware related problem in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

J3 Home Button Works On Its Own After Phone Got Wet

Problem: Hello, I dropped by Samsung Galaxy J3  in  water, twice. It seems as though there is water inside the phone, as the home button is pressing itself multiple times, turning the phone on, then activating the camera. When it is standing straight up, it seems to work flawlessly. But when it is placed flat, it does this. The power button works for some of the time after putting the battery back in, but then fails to work. I would really appreciate your help.

Solution: Because your phone got wet you will need to make sure that the internal part is free from moisture. Place the phone in a bag of rice and leave it for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone. Once this is done try checking if the issue still occurs. If it does then the problem could already be caused by a water damaged component. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.

J3 Front Camera Is Blurry

Problem: I have an android Samsung J3. The front facing camera has suddenly become blurry. I have cleaned the camera, reset and done everything I can think of. The problem remains

Solution: If you have already cleaned the camera lens and performed a factory reset but the issue still persists then this could already be caused by a faulty camera module. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
