Just like any community of online games, Roblox has rules to discourage abuse, bullying, violence, and any inappropriate behavior. This is the main reason why it has a Report Abuse feature in place. How to report a player in Roblox in 2024?
If you want to report abuse in Roblox, there are a number of things that you can do depending on what situation you’re in. There are at least 5 reporting methods in Roblox:
- reporting a user while in a game
- reporting game
- reporting an item
- reporting a chat message
- Reporting a content created by a user
Let’s go ahead and see how to do each of these reports below.
Method 1: How to report a user in a game.
The most commonly used Report Abuse feature in Roblox is the one involving reporting a player directly within a game. You may want to report someone for inappropriate chat, content, or violation while you’re playing so this option is a convenient one. This report is directly sent to the game’s moderators and is one of the most effective way to report abuse.
Here’s how it’s done:
- While in the game, select the Menu button at the upper left hand of the screen. This button looks like the Roblox logo.
- Once you’ve in the Menu, select Report (Flag icon).
- Select Person for Experience or Person?
- For Which Person, select the username that you want to report.
- For Type of Abuse, pull-down the menu and select the violation or action.
- For best results, be sure to add more description of your report to give a clear picture to the moderators regarding the incident.
- Select the Submit button to finish the report.
Keep in mind that you can also report the game itself while you’re playing if you feel that it has inappropriate contents, or if it has violated Roblox rules. Here’s how:
- While in the game, select the Menu button at the upper left hand of the screen. This button looks like the Roblox logo.
- Once you’ve in the Menu, select Report (Flag icon).
- Select Experience for Experience or Person?
- Then, make sure to add more details about your report so the moderators will know what you’re talking about.
- Select the Submit button to finish the report.
Method 2: Reporting abuse when not in a game.
If you’re not currently playing but you want to report an entire game, you’ll need to use the Report Abuse link in the About page of a certain game. This means going into the Roblox main page, selecting the game, and going to its About page.
Method 3: Reporting contents.
If you found a content that broke the rules in Roblox and you want to report it, all you need to do is to look for the three dots at the upper right and select Report Item.
Method 4: Reporting inappropriate chat messages.
If you’re playing Roblox on your web browser, you also have the option to report the chat details you find offensive and breaking the rules. Here’s how to do that:
- Open the chat window with your friend.
- Click on the Gear icon at the top of the portion of the window.
- Select the three dots beside the name of the person that you want to report.
- Select Report.
Method 5: Reporting an ad.
Aside from persons and contents, you can also report any ad that violates the games rules. If you think that a third party advertisement on the Roblox website is inappropriate, just find the Report link on the lower right hand side of the ad and click on it. Once the page reloads, fill out the form and select the Report Abuse button to send.
What happens if you give a false report?
Bear in mind that reporting a person, content, or experience will not immediately make the object of your report to be banned, blocked, or suspended in Roblox. Moderators will have to manually check your report and check if there’s indeed a violation. This means that if your report is false, the reported person, content, game, or object will not be sanctioned by Roblox at all.
