HTC 10 Not Turning On

Problem: Im having issues with my phone not turning on. Also, im not entirely sure that the operating system is Nougat Version 7.0-7.1.2. This phone was always taken care of, no water damage, and always in a case. One day it was on charge, and I unplugged it. The phone then crashed and wont turn on. I have read, and done the troubleshooting guide.  With the phone off, I was able to hold down the volume down key, and the power key until the phone vibrates. I was able to get to the black screen with red and blue text, selecting “reboot to bootloader” after selecting it it goes black and then the “white screen with colored text” NEVER appears. Sometimes the phone will vibrate after 10 seconds of holding down the volume down, and power key, allowing me to select “boot to recovery mode” unsuccessfully though, the next “white” screen never appears” Sometimes holding down these buttons will do nothing. Sometimes when I plug my phone in, it will light up the orange charging light. other times, it will not. The only way I have been able to get to the “white screen with colored text” is to hold down all three (Volume up, Volume Down, and Power Key) for a little under 2 min,. the Phone Vibrates, and displays the white screen, if i release the buttons immediately, it stays on the screen and i can select ” Boot to Recovery Mode” after doing this, the screen turns black with a White HTC in the middle, a few moments and the screen goes black and that’s the end of it. I have not been able to get past that screen. in the guides it says, another black screen will come up, ( like previously) red and blue text and to select “wipe data/factory reset”. But This screen never shows up. I hope this was thorough enough, and not confusing. Thank you for your time

Related Problem: Hi there! I have had a look at almost every webpage on earth and I can’t find the solution to the problem. My HTC 10 stopped charging mysteriously one morning and my phone is now dead, so I can’t reset my phone or even use the method of holding buttons (every combination). There is no microSD card in the phone and the wall charger works. It vibrates occasionally, so I think this is a firmware problem, but I can’t even boot it up. Please help me! Thanks!

Solution: The best thing that you should do right now is to make sure that the battery has sufficient charge. Follow the troubleshooting steps listed below to charge your phone.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris that could be stuck in this port as this could cause charging issues.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using its wall charger.
  • If the phone does not charge then you should try using a different charging cord. You should also check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port.
  • Turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume up buttons for at least 20 seconds.

In case the issue persists then this could already by a hardware related problem in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

HTC 10 Only Works when Plugged To Charger

Problem: HTC 10 only works when plugged into power. Goes into continual reboot mode when it is not plugged into power. Battery seems to be draining extremely fast as well.

Solution: The best troubleshooting step that you can do right now is to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. To do this you will need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If after the reset the issue still occurs then this could already be a hardware related problem possibly caused by a faulty battery. You will need to bring this to a service center and have it checked.

HTC 10 Not Charging

Problem: Hi guys! My phone dies but will not charge. Same charger plug and cable used last night fine, and on the train a few hours ago (although now I’m questioning whether I SAW it charging or not). Phone does start (with the white HTC screen) when turned on whilst plugged into wall, but shows a strange (I’ve never seen this style before) 0% battery image and turns off. So my issue is, that I can’t tell if it’s charging or not, and thus I cannot do any of the other steps for resetting. I did do the 3 button hold trick (vol up, vol down, power) and it goes to a white safe mode looking screen with options like (I’m trying to remember what they said) Reboot to Bootloader, Reboot to system, reboot to download… I tried a power brick too, and the brick lights come on automatically when plugged into the phone as normal, but still no light on the phone. I also plugged into Mac, but no light either. My next option is to leave on ‘charge’ for a few hours and see if it does anything, but I don’t think it will. I’m sure it’s a simple thing, but I haven’t come across an answer on the internet yet, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed. Next, charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using its wall charger. In case the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger.

Try turning on the phone. If it does not turn on then you should have this checked at a service center.

HTC 10 Videos Sent Using Message+ Not Viewed By Recipient

Problem: I have an HTC 10. When I attempt to send short download videos the recipient will get a message to install message+ to view the video. I used message+ with my HTC 1 and never had any issues. Please help. Thanks!

Solution: It’s very likely that the recipient’s phone does not have the correct APN settings to download the MMS message. You should have the recipient check on these settings so that they will be able to receive MMS messages.

HTC 10 Screen Is Black

Problem: My screen won’t power on, but I do get calls and add other notifications but the screen stays black out, few days back I tried making a DIY speaker during which I accidentally provided a power flow through the headphone Jack after which the screen won’t turn on but get all sorts of notifications sounds , I tried with screen replacement , but it doesn’t seem to work, can u help me out with what part I should be looking into to fix this mess.

Solution: If you have already tried replacing the screen and the issue still persists then the problem could be caused by a faulty component in the motherboard. You need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
