How To View Location History On Google Maps
You can view location history on Google Maps to know the places you visited at a particular date. This is important if you want to know the highlights of your weekly or monthly activity. You can easily do this from the timeline setting of the app on your phone.
Google Maps is a web mapping service that can be accessed for free from a computer browser or a phone app. It shows detailed information on a particular location such as street views, real time traffic conditions, and public transportation routes just to name a few. Using Google Maps on your Android phone to view your location history
One of the features of Google Maps is that it can keep track of the places that you have been. You will know the places you have been the past few days, weeks, or even months. It can even show you the distance you traveled and how long it took you to arrive. This is quite useful when you want to know what you have been doing on a particular day. Here’s what you need to do to view your timeline.

Show your location history
- Open Google Maps.
You can do this by swiping up from your phone home screen and tapping on the app icon.
- Tap your profile picture.
This is located on the upper right part of the app.
- Tap Your Timeline.
This will open the timeline settings of the app.
- Tap the calendar field.
This can be found on top of the Google Maps app.
- Tap a date.
This will show the location history for the chosen date.
Turning off location history
If you don’t want Google Maps to record where you have been then here’s what you need to do.
- Open Google Maps.
- Tap your profile picture.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Personal content.
- Tap Location History is on.
- Turn off the Location History switch.
After performing the steps listed above you will successfully fix view location history on Google Maps using your Android phone.
