How to use Galaxy Note10+ S Pen to open an app or other apps | do specific app actions

As the S Pen becomes more powerful, it’s not a surprise when new interesting features or functions are added year after year. One of the features we see on the Galaxy Note10+ this year is the functionality that allows you to open an app by pressing the S Pen button. Once you’ve selected the app you want to launch, you can then customize it to allow you to use the S Pen to do specific app actions. Learn how to do each of these below.

You can also set up specific app functions using the S Pen. For example, the default camera setup will allow you to take a picture if you single press the S Pen button.  For other apps like a music player, double pressing the S Pen button can be nominated to play the next track. Using gestures, you can swipe the S Pen app to, say, increase the volume of an app. These gestures are dependent whether or not the app supports them though. Still, this makes the S Pen more useful than simply being a camera peripheral. Below are the steps to tweak the Air actions menu to customize a specific app:

  1. Open Settings app.
  2. Tap Advanced features.
  3. Tap S Pen.
  4. Tap Air Actions.
  5. App actions.
