When a phone gets stuck on a certain screen and would no longer respond, you can always expected it to be a firmware issue. That seems to be a problem with some owners of frozen Galaxy A30 units. Unfreezing a frozen Galaxy A30
Most of the time, when a smartphone freezes or becomes unresponsive, it’s just due to a firmware crash. While it may seem like a very serious hardware problem, it’s actually very easy to fix provided it’s not due to physical damage. With that being said, here’s what I suggest you do about this problem…
Force restart your frozen Galaxy A30
This is the most effective solution to this problem and it could be the only thing you need to do to fix your frozen Galaxy A30. It’s a simulated battery pull procedure which momentarily disconnects the power to drained stored electricity in capacitors and other components. This will refresh your phone’s memory as well as reload all its apps and services. To do this, follow these steps:
- Press and hold the volume down button
- While holding down the volume button, press and hold the power key as well.
- Now, keep holding both keys and release them when the Samsung Galaxy A30 logo shows on the screen.
If your phone reboots after this procedure, then the problem is fixed. However, there’s no guarantee that the problem won’t happen again in the future. But the good thing about it is that you already know what to do when it occurs again.
On the other hand, if the force restart didn’t unfreeze your frozen Galaxy A30, then you have to try the next procedure.

Force reboot frozen Galaxy A30 while charging
It is very much possible that the battery got drained completely. While having a drained battery isn’t really a problem, there are times when the firmware crashes just before the phone turns off and it’s because some services and components may not be properly closed or shut down. As a result, you’re dealing with a couple of pretty minor problems that both result in an unresponsive or frozen Galaxy A30. To address this, follow these steps:
- Plug the charger to a working wall outlet.
- Connect the phone to the charger using the original cable.
- Regardless of whether the phone shows the charging symbol or not, leave it connected to the charger for 10 minutes or so.
- After that, press and hold the volume down and power keys for 10 seconds or more.
If your frozen Galaxy A30 turns on after doing this, then the problem was indeed pretty minor. However, if it remains to be unresponsive, then it’s time you brought it back to the store or shop so that a technician can check it for you.

- Turn off the device.
- Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.
- When the Galaxy A30 logo shows, release all three keys.
- Your Galaxy A30 will continue to boot up into the Recovery Mode. Once you see a black screen with blue and yellow texts, proceed to the next step.
- Press the Volume down key several times to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset’.
- Press Power button to select.
- Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes’ is highlighted.
- Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
- When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
- Press the Power key to restart the device.
