How to fix Samsung Galaxy A30 that keeps rebooting randomly

Fixing Galaxy A30 that keeps rebooting randomly

Random restarts are among the most common performance-related issues and while they may be very annoying, they’re often very easy to fix. One of the procedures below may get rid of the problem, so try to see which one works for you. 

First solution: Use your phone in safe mode

We need to know if the cause of the problem is a third-party app or not and that’s the reason why you need to run your phone in safe mode first. There are times when apps crash and cause inconsistencies in the system and trigger the restart. So, follow these steps to restart your Galaxy A30 that keeps rebooting randomly in safe mode:

1. Press and hold the Volume Down button and don’t release it yet. 
2. While holding down the volume button, press and hold the Power key as well. 
3. Keep both keys held down together for 15 seconds or until the Galaxy A30 logo shows on the screen.

When your phone has successfully booted up into this mode, continue using it to see if the random reboots still occur. If your A30 works fine while in this environment, then it means that the problem is caused by a third-party app or service. Here’s what you should do next: 

1. Restart your phone normal to boot into standard mode.

Second solution: Use your phone while charging

The purpose of this procedure is for us to know if your phone still keeps rebooting even if it’s connected to a stable power source. At this point, it’s but natural to assume that the problem can be with the battery. So, plug the charger to a working wall outlet and then connect your phone to its using the original cable. 

While charging, use your phone like you normally would to see if it still keeps rebooting by itself. If it still does, then move on to the next solution. If it doesn’t, then it’s possible that the battery is the problem. But before you bring it to a shop, try doing the procedures below to see if there’s a difference in the phone’s performance.

Third solution: Wipe the cache partition to fix phone that keeps rebooting

Assuming that your Galaxy A30 still keeps rebooting after the second solution, it’s time to troubleshoot the firmware. The first firmware troubleshooting you should do is to delete the old system cache. You can do so by running your phone into recovery mode and wiping the cache partition from there. Here’s how you do that: 

1. Turn off the device.
2. Press and hold the Volume Up and Power keys.
3. When the Galaxy A30 logo shows, release the keys.
4. Your Galaxy A30 will continue to boot up into the Recovery Mode. Once you see a black screen with blue and yellow texts, proceed to the next step. 
5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
6. Press Power key to select.
7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

If your phone still keeps rebooting after this, then move on to the next solution.

Fourth solution: Reset all the settings of your phone

Another possibility that we have to rule out is that this problem may have been caused by some settings in your phone. There are settings that can cause this kind of problem, especially the ones under the Developer Options. Also, if you have installed an app that can automatically reboot your phone, then this procedure will address that as well. This is how it’s done: 

1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to pull the notification panel down. 
2. Tap the Settings icon on the upper-right corner. 
3. Scroll to and tap General management. 
4. Touch Reset. 
5. Tap Reset settings. 
6. Tap the Reset settings button. 
7. If prompted, enter your PIN, Password or Pattern. 
8. Finally, tap Reset.

If your phone still keeps rebooting after this, then move on to the next solution. 

Fifth solution: Backup files and do the Master Reset

After uninstalling some apps and your still keeps rebooting randomly or if the problem still occurs in safe mode, then this is the next thing you have to do. You need to bring the device back to its default settings and configuration by performing the master reset. This will delete all your personal information, settings, apps, files and data so make sure to create a backup before you actually reset the phone.

Just before you begin the process, make sure to remove your Google account so that you won’t be locked out of your device after the reset. Once everything is set and ready for your Galaxy A30, follow these steps to do the master reset: 

1. Turn off the device.
2. Press and hold the Volume Up and Power keys.
3. When the Galaxy A10 logo shows, release the keys.
4. Your Galaxy A10 will continue to boot up into the Recovery Mode. Once you see a black screen with blue and yellow texts, proceed to the next step. 
5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset’.
6. Press Power button to select.
7. Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes’ is highlighted.
8. Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
9. When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
10. Press the Power key to restart the device.

A master reset will rule out the possibility that the problem is only with the firmware. All software issues can be fixed by a reset but if the problem persists after this procedure, then it could mean that the problem is actually with the hardware. In this case, you have no other choice but to bring your phone back to the store or any Samsung Experience hub to get it checked.
