How to fix your Samsung Galaxy A30 that won’t turn on

Troubleshooting Galaxy A30 that won’t turn on

When troubleshooting a phone with this kind of problem, you have to make sure that your device doesn’t have any signs of physical or liquid damage because if that’s the cause of the problem, then there’s no point in troubleshooting. It’s best to just bring the phone to the shop so that a technician can check the integrity of the hardware. However, if this problem started without apparent reason or cause, then here’s what you need to do: 

First solution: Force restart your Galaxy A30

This must be the first thing you have to do. In fact, it can be the only thing you need to do to make your phone respond again. The Forced Restart is actually a simulated battery removal which refreshes your phone’s memory as well as reloads all its apps and services. If this is just a minor problem with the firmware or a system crash, then your phone should boot up after doing this: 

1. Press and hold the Volume Down button and don’t release it yet. 
2. While holding down the volume button, press and hold the Power key as well. 
3. Keep both keys held down together for 15 seconds or until the Galaxy A30 logo shows on the screen.

If the device failed to respond or won’t turn on after the first try, then do the same procedure a few more times before moving on to the next solution.

Second solution: Charge your phone and do the forced restart

It’s possible that the battery was drained completely and that the firmware crashed just before the phone turned off. I personally encountered such issue a few more times. This happens when you let your phone run out of battery, although it doesn’t happen frequently. To try and rule this possibility out, here’s what you need to do: 

1. Plug the charger to a working wall outlet. 
2. Using the original cable, connect the phone to its charger. 
3. Regardless of whether the phone shows the charging symbol or not, leave it connected to the charger for at least 10 minutes. 
4. After which and while the phone is still connected to the charger, press and hold the Volume Down button and don’t release it yet. 
5. While holding down the volume button, press and hold the Power key as well. 
6. Keep both keys held down together for 15 seconds or until the Galaxy A30 logo shows on the screen.

If your phone still won’t turn on even after this, then it’s possible that the problem is with the hardware. It’s time you brought the phone to the shop or back to the store where you bought it as it could be a hardware problem.

On the other hand, if you were able to make your phone respond by doing either of the solutions but the problem occurs from time to time, then a reset is all you need to make it work perfectly again. Just make sure to create a copy of your important files and data prior to the reset as they will be deleted. When you’re done with the backup, follow these steps to reset your phone:

1. Turn off the device.
2. Press and hold the Volume Up and Power keys.
3. When the Galaxy A30 logo shows, release all three keys.
4. Your Galaxy A30 will continue to boot up into the Recovery Mode. Once you see a black screen with blue and yellow texts, proceed to the next step. 
5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset’.
6. Press Power button to select.
7. Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes’ is highlighted.
8. Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
9. When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
10. Press the Power key to restart the device.
