Troubleshooting Galaxy A30 with slow performance

There’s always something you can do if your phone started to run slow. In troubleshooting your phone, you have to be thorough to know the reason why such problem occurs. With that being said, here’s what you need to do about this problem..

First solution: Close apps running in the background and force restart phone

When there are a lot of apps running in the background, you may notice that your phone would become sluggish and slow. It’s because those apps still use the CPU and RAM even if you’re not using them. Close them all and your phone may run faster. Tap the Recent key and then touch Close all. After doing that, force restart your phone to refresh its memory as well as reload all its apps and services. Here’s how it’s done:

  1. Press and hold the volume down key and don’t release it.
  2. While holding the volume button, press and hold the power key as well.
  3. Keep both keys held down together for 15 seconds or until the Galaxy S10+ logo shows on the screen.

Once the device becomes active, continue using your phone and observe closely to know if it’s still has a slow performance. If it’s still sluggish, then move on to the next procedure.

Second solution: Observe your phone while in Safe mode

There are third-party applications that will make your phone run slow. You need to find out if it’s one of those cases and to do so, you simply have to run your Galaxy A30 in safe mode to temporarily disable all third-party applications. It is important that you did this because it will tell you immediately if the poor performance is caused by apps or not. Here’s how your run your phone in safe mode:

  1. Press and hold the power key until power options show.
  2. Tap and hold the Power off option until Safe mode appears.
  3. Touch the Safe mode icon to restart your device.
  4. When your phone boots up, you’ll see the text Safe mode on the lower-left corner of the screen.

Use your phone and observe while it’s in this mode to know if it’s still has slow performance. If it’s still sluggish, then it’s time to troubleshoot the firmware.

Third solution: Wipe cache partition to fix slow performance issue

It is possible that the reason why your phone has a poor performance is because the system cache got corrupted. The next thing you have to do is delete the cache so that it will be replaced with a new one. You can achieve this by rebooting your phone in recovery mode and then wipe the cache partition from there. This is how it’s done:

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up and Power keys.
  3. When the Galaxy A30 logo shows, release all three keys.
  4. Your Galaxy A30 will continue to boot up into the Recovery Mode. Once you see a black screen with blue and yellow texts, proceed to the next step.
  5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
  6. Press Power key to select.
  7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
  8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
  9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

After this procedure, continue your observation to know if your device still has a slow performance because if it still does, then you have to reset your phone.

Fourth solution: Master reset your S10+

After doing the procedures above and your phone is still sluggish or has poor performance, then it’s time to reset your phone. When it comes to fixing problems like this, the reset will definitely make things right again for your device. However, you have to create a backup of your important files and data as they will be deleted especially ones that are saved in your phone’s internal storage. You may move them to your SD card or computer or you can upload them to the cloud. After which, remove your Google and Samsung accounts so that you won’t be locked out of your device after the reset. Here’s how to do the master reset your phone:

  5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset’.
  6. Press Power button to select.
  7. Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes’ is highlighted.
  8. Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
  9. When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  10. Press the Power key to restart the device.
