How to fix your Samsung Galaxy A30 that started running so slow

Troubleshooting a Galaxy A30 that’s running so slow

Most of the time, the reason why a smartphone starts running so slow is that there are already a bunch of apps that run in the background. As you know, tapping the Home key when you’re using an app doesn’t actually close the application. Needless to say, it continues to run in the background and if there are already a bunch of them using your phone’s CPU and RAM, then you can expect that the performance will be affected. But then of course, that’s just one of the possibilities. Here are the things you need to do about this problem… 

First solution: Perform the Forced Restart on your phone

If you use your device every day, you should have noticed when then problem started. Most of the time, you will be able to notice that your phone would start to freeze every now and then, or lags may occur from time to time while you’re using the apps. These symptoms are often the precursor of any performance issues. However, if your Galaxy A30 started running so slow all of a sudden without apparent cause, then it’s probably just a pretty minor firmware issue. It should be something you can fix by doing the Forced Restart. It’s a simulated battery removal that usually refreshes your device’s memory and reloads all its services. Here’s how it’s done on your Galaxy A30: 

1. Press and hold the Volume Down button and don’t release it yet. 
2. While holding down the volume button, press and hold the Power key as well. 
3. Keep both keys held down together for 15 seconds or until the Galaxy A30 logo shows on the screen.

Second solution: Start your phone in Safe Mode

1. Press and hold the Power key until options show. 
2. Tap and hold the Power off option until it changes into Safe Mode. 
3. Tap the Safe mode icon to restart your device.
4. Once the reboot is successful, you should see ‘Safe mode’ at the lower-left corner of the screen. 

Once you’ve successfully brought your device to boot in safe mode, use it like you usually do to know if it’s still running so slow. If it does work properly, then here’s what you need to do next…

1. Restart your phone normal to boot into standard mode. 
2. Remember the apps you installed about the time when the phone started to run slow.
3. Once you already have an app in mind, swipe down from the top of the screen to pull the notification panel down. 
4. Tap the Settings icon on the upper-right corner. 
5. Scroll to and then tap Apps. 
6. Find and tap suspected app. 
7. Tap Storage. 
8. Touch Clear data and tap OK to confirm.
9. Tap the back key once and then touch Uninstall. 
10. Confirm that you want to remove the app from your phone. 

On the other hand, if your phone still runs very slowly in Safe mode, then move on to the next solution.

Third solution: Delete the old system cache

If the Safe mode remedy failed, the next thing you have to go after is the phone’s system cache. It’s a collective term for hundreds of small apps that the system uses to make your phone run smoothly. While they basically don’t have that much of an impact on your phone’s overall operations, the performance may suffer if some of them are corrupt. So, make sure to delete the old cache so that it will be replaced with a new one. Here’s how you do that: 

1. Turn off the device.
2. Press and hold the Volume Up and Power keys.
3. When the Galaxy A30 logo shows, release all three keys.
4. Your Galaxy A30 will continue to boot up into the Recovery Mode. Once you see a black screen with blue and yellow texts, proceed to the next step. 
5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
6. Press Power key to select.
7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

After your phone has restarted, find out if it’s still running so slow and if it does, then try the next solution. 

Fourth solution: Reset all the settings of your Galaxy A30

After deleting the old system cache and your phone still has a very poor performance, then it’s time you brought all the settings back to their default values. It is possible that this problem is caused by some settings that were inadvertently changed, especially if the Developer Options are enabled in your device. Here’s how you do that: 

1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to pull the notification panel down. 
2. Tap the Settings icon on the upper-right corner. 
3. Scroll to and tap General management. 
4. Touch Reset. 
5. Tap Reset settings. 
6. Tap the Reset settings button. 
7. If prompted, enter your PIN, Password or Pattern. 
8. Finally, tap Reset.

If your Galaxy A30 is still running so slow after this procedure, then move on to the next solution.

Fifth solution: Master Reset your Galaxy A30 that’s running so slow

The fact is a reset will be able to fix any firmware and performance issues as long as the firmware has not been modified in any way. However, prior to the reset, make sure to create a backup of your important files and data. After the backup, remove both your Google and Samsung accounts so that you won’t be locked out. When you’re ready, follow these steps to reset your Galaxy A30 that’s running so slow: 

1. Turn off the device.
2. Press and hold the Volume Up and Power keys.
3. When the Galaxy A30 logo shows, release all three keys.
4. Your Galaxy A30 will continue to boot up into the Recovery Mode. Once you see a black screen with blue and yellow texts, proceed to the next step. 
5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset’.
6. Press Power button to select.
7. Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes’ is highlighted.
8. Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
9. When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
10. Press the Power key to restart the device.
