In this post, I will walk you through in troubleshooting your Galaxy S10e with slow performance. We will try to consider every possibility and rule them out one after another until we can figure out what the problem really is and hopefully fix it. Troubleshooting Galaxy S10e with very slow performance
Firmware-related issues are easy to fix. There are times when they’re caused by some third-party apps and there are instances wherein they’re all just due to some minor issues. Here are the things you need to do if your Galaxy S10e has very slow performance…
First solution: Isolate the problem immediately
It is very important that you determine what the cause of the problem really is. The first thing you have to do is run it in safe mode to temporarily disable all third-party applications. As I said earlier, the problem could be due to some third-party apps. Now, follow these steps to restart your device in safe mode:
- Press and hold the Power key until options show.
- Tap and hold the Power off option until it changes into Safe Mode.
- Tap the Safe mode icon to restart your device.
- Once the reboot is successful, you should see ‘Safe mode’ at the lower-left corner of the screen.
Once the phone is in safe mode, observe your phone closely to know if it still has a very slow performance. If the problem is seem fixed, then it’s a sign that the cause of the problem is a third-party application. Follow these steps to determine which of the apps is causing the problem:
- Restart your phone normal to boot into standard mode.
- Remember the apps you installed about the time when the phone starts to reboot by itself.
- Once you already have an app in mind, swipe down from the top of the screen to pull the notification panel down.
- Tap the Settings icon on the upper-right corner.
- Scroll to and then tap Apps.
- Find and tap suspected app.
- Tap Storage.
- Touch Clear data and tap OK to confirm.
- Tap the back key once and then touch Uninstall.
- Confirm that you want to remove the app from your phone.
On the other hand, if the phone still has slow performance while in safe mode, then move on to the next solution.

Second solution: Reset all settings
Resetting all settings is like a factory reset but none of your files are deleted. It’s very effective in fixing performance-related issues and it’s safe. You have to do this to rule out this possibility and here’s how it’s done:
- Swipe down from the top of the screen to pull the notification panel down.
- Tap the Settings icon on the upper-right corner.
- Scroll to and tap General management.
- Touch Reset.
- Tap Reset settings.
- Tap the Reset settings button.
- If prompted, enter your PIN, Password or Pattern.
- Finally, tap Reset.
If the phone still has very slow performance after resetting all settings, then move on to the next procedure.
Third solution: Wipe cache partition
Wiping the cache partition will delete the system cache and replace it with a new one. There are times when the cache gets corrupted and when it happens, performance issues often occur. To try and fix this problem, here’s what you need to do:
- Turn off the device.
- Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.
- When the Galaxy S10e logo shows, release all three keys.
- Your Galaxy S10e will continue to boot up into the Recovery Mode. Once you see a black screen with blue and yellow texts, proceed to the next step.
- Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
- Press Power key to select.
- Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
- When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
- Press the Power key to restart the device.
If your phone still has a very slow performance after this, then you must reset it to fix the problem.

Fourth solution: Backup files and reset your phone
As long as the firmware hasn’t been modified in any way, you should be able to fix performance issues by doing a reset. However, make sure to create a backup of your important files and data as they will be deleted especially ones that that are stored in your phone’s internal storage. After the backup, remove your Google and Samsung accounts so you won’t be locked out. When everything is up and ready, follow these steps to reset your phone:
- Turn off the device.
- Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.
- When the Galaxy S10e logo shows, release all three keys.
- Your Galaxy S10e will continue to boot up into the Recovery Mode. Once you see a black screen with blue and yellow texts, proceed to the next step.
- Press the Volume down key several times to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset’.
- Press Power button to select.
- Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes’ is highlighted.
- Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
- When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
- Press the Power key to restart the device.
