How to fix Samsung Galaxy A10 that can’t send MMS

Some owners of the Samsung Galaxy A10 reported that they can’t send MMS from their phones anymore. The problem seems to have started after an update, which prompts us to believe that this could be a firmware-related issue. However, there are also other possibilities that we have to consider and rule out.

An MMS is basically a text message with an attachment. It is transmitted via mobile data, so needless to say, the mobile data on your phone should be enabled before you can send MMS, and that your account is not barred from using the service.

Troubleshooting a Galaxy A10 that can’t send MMS

When troubleshooting a smartphone that can’t send MMS, you should be very thorough as there are a lot of factors involved. So the course of our troubleshooting will be to find out if this is just due to a minor glitch in the system or caused by other factors. With that said, here are the things you need to do…

First solution: Perform the Forced restart on your phone

It is always possible that this problem is just due to a pretty minor firmware glitch. That’s the reason why you need to do the forced reboot first as it refreshes your phone’s memory and reload all services. If this problem occurred without apparent reason or cause, then this procedure might be able to make your device work perfectly again and send MMS. Here’s how you do it:

  1. Press and hold the Volume Down button and don’t release it yet.
  2. While holding down the volume button, press and hold the Power key as well.
  3. Keep both keys held down together for 15 seconds or until the Galaxy A10 logo shows on the screen.

Once your phone has finished rebooting, try to see if you can now send MMS messages.

Second solution: Make sure mobile data is enabled

This is a no-brainer but if the issue just occurred all of a sudden, then it’s possible that mobile data was disabled. Follow these steps to make sure it’s enabled:

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to pull the notification panel down.
  2. Touch the Settings icon.
  3. Touch Connections.
  4. Scroll down and touch Data Usage.
  5. Touch the switch next to Mobile data to enable it if it’s been disabled.

If mobile data is already enabled when you checked the settings, then try disabling it for a few seconds and re-enable it. Doing so will refresh the connection between your phone and the network. If you still can’t send MMS after this, then move on to the next solution.

Third solution: Reset the network settings of your phone

After doing the first two procedures and your Galaxy A10 still can’t send MMS, then it’s time to bring all its network configurations to default. This procedure is especially effective if you got the phone with a plan as it will reset the APN and all other network services. Don’t worry, none of your files will be deleted if you did this but your WiFi and Bluetooth connections will be deleted.

This method has already been proven to be effective against problems like this. Here’s how you do it:

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to pull the notification panel down.
  2. Tap the Settings icon on the upper-right corner.
  3. Scroll to and tap General management.
  4. Touch Reset.
  5. Tap Reset network settings.
  6. Tap Reset settings.
  7. If prompted, enter your PIN, Password or Pattern.
  8. Finally, tap Reset.

After doing this procedure, try to see if your phone still can’t send MMS. If the problem remains, then move on to the next solution.

Fourth solution: Factory reset your Galaxy A10 that can’t send MMS

At this point, it’s best to make sure that this problem isn’t just due to any firmware-related issues. So a reset will be necessary but before that, take a little time creating a backup of things you don’t want to lose. After the backup, remove your Google and Samsung account so that you won’t be locked out and when ready, follow these steps to reset your Galaxy A10:

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up and Power keys.
  3. When the Galaxy A10 logo shows, release all three keys.
  4. Your Galaxy A10 will continue to boot up into the Recovery Mode. Once you see a black screen with blue and yellow texts, proceed to the next step.
  5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset’.
  6. Press Power button to select.
  7. Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes’ is highlighted.
  8. Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
  9. When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  10. Press the Power key to restart the device.

After the reset, set up your phone as a new device. Once the setup is finished, the first thing you should try is send an MMS. If the problem remains, then it’s time you called your service provided as the problem could already be in the service level.
