How to fix Pandora that keeps crashing on Samsung Galaxy S9 (easy steps)
Pandora is one of the most popular apps in the Play Store but we always have readers who have been complaining about it because it reportedly kept on crashing. App-related issues occur from time to time. In fact, you can expect that some apps may just stop working without apparent reason every now and then. It occurs even to powerful phones like the Samsung Galaxy S9.
The thing is that such problem is always a minor issue with the app or the firmware and you can actually fix it on your own without any help from someone or a technician. When an app crashes, it may close immediately upon opening. Sometimes you may be able to use it for a few minutes before it closes on its own. There are also times when you will be greeted by an error that, in this case, should say “Unfortunately, Pandora has stopped.”
Before going further, if you found this post because you were trying to find a solution to your problem, then try to visit our Galaxy S9 troubleshooting page as we’ve already addressed most of the commonly reported issues with the phone. We’ve already provided solutions to some of the problems reported by our readers so try to find issues that are similar with yours and use the solutions we suggested. Fix Galaxy S9 with Pandora app that keeps crashing
The following solutions are very effective in fixing app-related problems such as crashes and force closes. You may not have to do them all so try to see which one works for you.
First solution: Reboot your Galaxy S9
Before doing anything, make sure you reboot your phone first because it often solves a lot of minor issues. Pandora may be crashing due to some issues with the firmware of the app itself. So, hit that power key and restart your phone. If it still crashes after that, try doing the Forced Reboot procedure:
- Press and hold both the volume down and power keys at the same time for 10 seconds or more.
It’s far more effective than just a normal reboot as it refreshes the phone’s memory, closes all apps running in the background and reloads all core functions and services. If, however, the problem still continues after this, then move on to the next solution.

Second solution: Reset Pandora
When it comes to apps, a reset means clearing their caches and data which brings them to their default settings or configuration. That’s what you need to do at this point. It’s a very effective solution especially if Pandora force closes or shows the error “Unfortunately, Pandora has stopped.”
- From a Home screen, touch and swipe up or down to display all apps.
- From a Home screen, navigate: Settings > Apps.
- Tap App Manager.
- Locate then tap Pandora.
- Tap Storage.
- Tap CLEAR CACHE.
- Tap Cached data.
- Tap CLEAR.
If the problem continues after this, then try the next solution.
Third solution: Uninstall Pandora and reinstall it
At this point, we will have to rule out the possibility that this problem is caused by a compatibility issue between Pandora and the firmware. Usually, we would suggest to see if there’s an update for the app in question but I think it’s always better to just uninstall the app from your phone and reinstall it.
By uninstalling the app, you’re removing all its associations with other apps and services. It’s very effective if the cause of the problem is corrupt files and data. Here’s how you uninstall the app from your phone:
- From a Home screen, touch and swipe up or down to display all apps.
- From a Home screen, navigate: Settings > Apps.
- Tap App Manager.
- Locate then tap Pandora.
- Tap UNINSTALL.
- Review the notification then tap OK to confirm.
- Reboot your phone to refresh it’s memory and other connections.
Now, to reinstall Pandora, follow these steps…
- From a Home screen, touch and swipe up or down to display all apps.
- Tap Play Store.
- Type ‘pandora’ in the search box.
- Select Pandora then tap Install.
- To continue, review the required app permissions then tap Accept.
By reinstalling it, you’re making sure you have the latest version of Pandora in your phone. If by any chance the problem continues to bug you after this, then you may have to reset your phone. But before you actually do that, make sure to backup your files and data as they will be deleted and you may not be able to retrieve them. And since we will be using the Master Reset in this tutorial, remove your google account from your phone so that you won’t be locked out after the reset. Once everything is set and ready, follow these steps:
- Turn off the device.
- Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.
- When the green Android logo displays, release all keys (‘Installing system update’ will show for about 30 – 60 seconds before showing the Android system recovery menu options).
- Press the Volume down key several times to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset’.
- Press Power button to select.
- Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes — delete all user data’ is highlighted.
- Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
- When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
- Press the Power key to restart the device.
