How to fix Galaxy Note10+ Not Registered On Network error

If your Galaxy Note10+ keeps showing the Not Registered On Network error, there are a number of factors that you must check. This post will guide you with that.

Galaxy Note10+ Not Registered On Network fix #1: Check for signal strength

If your Galaxy Note10+ keeps displaying the Not Registered On Network error all of a sudden, the first thing to do is to check for weak or poor signal. If the signal bar indicator on the notification bar has less than three bars, you may have a signal issue. Try to go out and see if the situation improves. If you are inside a building, try moving to a more open area or outside the building. If you’re travelling, consider stopping for a minute in an area with strong signal and check if there’s any improvement.

Galaxy Note10+ Not Registered On Network fix #2: Restart device

Network problems are sometimes fixed by rebooting a device. If you haven’t tried this yet, consider restarting your Galaxy Note10+ now. In many cases, doing this simple troubleshooting can refresh the app and clear a bug.

You have two easy ways to restart an app.

Method 1: Close an app using Recent Apps key

  1. On your screen, tap the Recent Apps soft key (the one with three vertical lines on the left of the Home button).
  2. Once the Recent Apps screen is shown, swipe left or right to look for the app. It should be here if you managed to run it previously.
  3. Then, swipe up on the app to close it. This should force close it. If it’s not there, simply tap the Close All app to also restart all apps.

Method 2: Close an app using App Info menu

Another way to force close an app is by going within the app’s settings itself. It’s a longer way compared to the first method above but it’s equally effective. You want to use this method if you plan on doing other troubleshooting for the said app like clearing its cache or data. Here’s how it’s done:

  1. Open Settings app.
  2. Tap Apps.
  3. Tap the More settings icon (three-dot icon, upper right).
  4. Tap Show system apps.
  5. Find and tap the app.
  6. Tap Force Stop.

Galaxy Note10+ Not Registered On Network fix #3: Reset network settings

Clearing network settings may work in this situation. Follow the steps below on how to reset network settings on your device.

  1. Open Settings app.
  2. Tap General management.
  3. Tap Reset.
  4. Tap Reset network settings.
  5. Tap Reset settings to confirm.

Galaxy Note10+ Not Registered On Network fix #4: Troubleshooting SIM card

There are a number of direct ways to deal with the SIM card directly in this situation. We’ll discuss each one below.

Reseat SIM card. One of the simplest ways to fix SIM-related issues is by temporarily disconnecting the SIM card. This usually works because sometimes, network issues may occur if a SIM card is loosely connected or when there’s an issue with the SIM card itself. If you haven’t tried this yet, be sure to remove the SIM card and see what happens after re-inserting it.

  1. Turn off your Galaxy Note10+. This is important. Inserting a SIM while the device is on may result to corrupted data.
  2. With your phone’s screen facing you, remove the card tray. You can use the insertion/removal tool (or a paperclip) to unlock the tray by inserting it into the provided slot. This small hole should be visible on the top of your device.
  3. Remove the SIM card from the tray. You can lift the card up from the bottom. To assist, use the opening on the opposite side of the tray to dislodge (using a fingernail or similar tool).
  4. After a few moments, re-insert the SIM card. Be sure that the phone is OFF when doing this.

Clear SIM App Dialog cache. Should reseating the SIM card won’t work, you can also deal directly with the SIM App Dialog app by clearing its cache. Here’s how it’s done:

  1. Go to the Home screen.
  2. Tap Apps icon.
  3. Open Settings app.
  4. Tap Apps.
  5. If you’re looking for a system or default app, tap on More options at the upper right (three-dot icon).
  6. Select Show system apps.
  7. Find and tap SIM App Dialog.
  8. Tap Storage.
  9. Tap Clear Cache button.
  10. Check for the problem

Reset SIM App Dialog app. If your Galaxy Note10+ still shows the Not Registered On Network error, your next move is to reset the SIM App Dialog app to its defaults. Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Home screen.
  2. Tap Apps icon.
  3. Open Settings app.
  4. Tap Apps.
  5. If you’re looking for a system or default app, tap on More options at the upper right (three-dot icon).
  6. Select Show system apps.
  7. Find and tap SIM App Dialog.
  8. Tap Storage.
  9. Tap Clear Data button.
  10. Check for the problem

Try another SIM Card. If none of the suggestions above has worked so far, consider getting a new SIM card to see if the card itself is the problem. Alternatively, you can insert the SIM card to another compatible phone or tablet to see if the SIM card works there.

Galaxy Note10+ Not Registered On Network fix #5: Install updates

Updating apps not only fixes known bugs but they can also prevent potential issues from fully becoming a problem. Just open the Play Store app and install the update from there. If there’s no update for the app, then there must be other factors that you want to check. Try to narrow them down by continuing below.

In some rare cases, outdated Android OS may cause some apps to stop working properly. Make sure that Android is up-to-date by installing any available system update. By default, your Note10+ should notify you of any system update automatically. However, you can also check for system updates manually by going under Settings > Software update. If you don’t have this option, that means that your device may be running a carrier-branded software.

Also, second hand or pre-owned carrier-branded phones may no longer receive updates if they’re used in another network. For example, if you bought an unlocked Verizon Galaxy Note10+ and use it in a T-Mobile network, the device will no longer get system update notifications.

Galaxy Note10+ Not Registered On Network fix #6: Disconnect from network

Sometimes, temporarily disconnecting your device from your cellular network can help in fixing weird bugs. To do that, follow these steps:

  1. Open Settings app.
  2. Tap Connections.
  3. Tap Mobile networks.
  4. Tap Network operators.
  5. Tap Select manually.
  6. Wait for the device to scan.
  7. Select a network (not your own).
  8. Tap your own network again to register to it.
  9. Check for the issue.

Galaxy Note10+ Not Registered On Network fix #7: Clear cache partition

A bad system cache may cause problems with Android. If your Galaxy Note10+ has Not Registered On Network error after installing a system update or app, refresing the system cache may help. Follow the steps below to achieve this:

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.
  3. When the green Android logo displays, release all keys (‘Installing system update’ will show for about 30 – 60 seconds before showing the Android system recovery menu options).
  4. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight ‘wipe cache partition’.
  5. Press Power button to select.
  6. Press the Volume down key until ‘yes’ is highlighted and press the Power button.
  7. When the wipe cache partition is complete, “Reboot system now” is highlighted.

Galaxy Note10+ Not Registered On Network fix #8: Check for bad apps

In case there’s a third party app causing Not Registered On Network error, the next good thing to do is to restart to safe mode. By third party app we mean apps that you added after the initial setup. Even apps from Google and Samsung are considered third party if they were downloaded right after you unboxed the phone.

To restart to safe mode:

  1. Press and hold the Power button until the Power off window appears then release.
  2. Touch and hold Power off until the Safe mode prompt appears then release.
  3. To confirm, tap Safe mode.
  4. The process may take up to 30 seconds to complete.
  5. Upon reboot, “Safe mode” appears in the lower-left of the home screen.

Remember that third-party applications are disabled in this mode so what you can use are pre-installed apps. If Not registered on network issue won’t appear on safe mode, that means that the problem is due to a bad app. Uninstall the app you recently installed and see if that will fix it. If the problem remains, use the process of elimination to identify the rogue app. Here’s how:

  1. Boot to safe mode.
  2. Check for the problem.
  3. Once you’ve confirmed that a third party app is to blame, you can start uninstalling apps individually. We suggest that you begin with the most recent ones you added.
  4. After you uninstall an app, restart the phone to normal mode and check for the problem.
  5. If your Galaxy Note10+ is still problematic, repeat steps 1-4.

Galaxy Note10+ Not Registered On Network fix #9: Erase Note10+ (Factory reset)

Consider wiping the device if your Galaxy Note10+ continues to show the Not Registered On Network at this point. Make sure to create a backup of your personal data ahead of time to avoid losing files.

Below are the two ways to factory reset your Note10+:
Method 1: How to hard reset on Samsung Galaxy Note10+ via Settings Menu
This is the easiest way to wipe your Galaxy Note10+. all you have to do is to go under Settings menu and follow the steps below. We recommend this method if you have no trouble going under Settings.
Create a backup of your personal data and remove your Google account.

  1. Open Settings app.
  2. Scroll to and tap General management.
  3. Tap Reset.
  4. Select Factory data reset from the given options.
  5. Read the information then tap Reset to continue.
  6. Tap Delete All to confirm action.

Method 2: How to hard reset on Samsung Galaxy Note10+ using hardware buttons
If your case is that the phone is not booting up, or it boots but Settings menu is inaccessible, this method can be helpful. First, you need to boot the device to Recovery Mode. Once you successfully access Recovery, that’s the time that you begin proper master reset procedure. It may take some tries for you before you can access Recovery so be patient and simply try again.

  1. If possible, create a backup of your personal data ahead of time. If your problem prevents you from doing that, then simply skip this step.
  2. Also, you want to make sure that you remove your Google account. If your problem prevents you from doing that, then simply skip this step.
  3. Turn off the device. This is important. If you can’t turn it off, you’ll never be able to boot to Recovery Mode. If you are not able to shut the device off regularly via the Power button, wait until the phone’s battery is drained. Then, charge the phone for 30 minutes before booting to Recovery Mode.
  4. Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby / Power key.
  5. When the green Android logo displays, release both keys (‘Installing system update’ will show for about 30 – 60 seconds before showing the Android system recovery menu options).
  6. The Recovery screen menu will now appear. When you see this, release the buttons.
  7. Use the Volume Down button until you are highlighting ‘Wipe data/factory reset.’
  8. Press the Power button to select ‘Wipe data/factory reset.’
  9. Use Volume Down to highlight Yes.
  10. Press the Power button to confirm the action to clear your phone data.

Galaxy Note10+ Not Registered On Network fix #10: Get help from network operator

The final troubleshooting step that you can do is to get help from your carrier. You need to do this if factory reset won’t fix the error at all. At this stage, it’s safe to assume that there may be an issue outside the device that only your carrier may be able to address.
