How to manage Galaxy Buds notifications

Getting voice notifications on the go is the current trend that many phones now offer. If you are a Samsung smartphone user and you have a Galaxy Buds, you’ll be delighted to know that the Galaxy Wearable app allows you that experience. By default, Samsung flagship devices already come with Galaxy Wearable app to make it easier for those who use the Galaxy Buds. If you have an older Samsung device, be sure to install Galaxy Wearable (Samsung Gear) from the Play Store. Once you have installed the app, you can then connect your Galaxy Buds to your phone and manage notifications by following the steps below.

These are the steps to manage Galaxy Buds notifications:

  1. Be sure that your Galaxy Buds is connected to your Samsung phone.
  2. Open the Galaxy Wearable app by swipe up or down on the Home screen to access the Apps screen. Tap the Samsung folder, and then touch Galaxy Wearable.
  3. Tap Notifications.
  4. Move the slider to the right to turn notifications on.

Manage notifications

Normally, we’ll recommend that you let the system decide on which apps to manage. By default, all apps should be able to give you notifications to your Galaxy Buds after Step #4 but if you want other apps to be blocked, then you must tap Manage notifications option. Doing so will allow you to select which app can forward notifications to your Galaxy Buds and which ones can’t. If you want all apps to give notifications, just move the slider for All apps to the right. Otherwise, you can pick the app you want to block and move its slider to the left. For example, if you find that Facebook notifications are annoying and you don’t want to receive notifications from it while using your Galaxy Buds, just move its slider to the left.

Read aloud while using phone

The good thing about using your Galaxy Buds is the fact that it can provide voice notifications when you’re using it. This is a good option when you’re driving or doing something that requires use of both hands to check the screen. Just make sure that Read aloud while using phone option is turned on.

NOTE: Some features, menu options, and settings will vary by the device and software version but generally, the steps above should give you an idea on what to do.

If music is being played from the earbuds when the alarm goes off, the track will be paused even if the notification is deactivated for alarms.
