Solved Samsung Galaxy S9 Volume Keeps Fluctuating

The #Samsung #Galaxy #S9 is one of the best flagship phones released in the market this year which sports some of the latest hardware components. Its design is similar to that of last year’s S8 model but this is where the similarity ends. Under the hood the phone uses the powerful Snapdragon 845 / Exynos 9810 processor combined with 4GB of RAM allowing the phone to run process intensive apps smoothly. Although this is a solid performing phone there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. S9 Volume Keeps Fluctuating

Problem: The volume on my phone keeps fluctuating at random. I have tried turning off and on sound equalizer and there was no change. I have restarted my phone several times. The issue hasn’t cleared up. The problem spans across any apps the use sound. The issue occurs when I’m wearing headphones, when I’m using Bluetooth speakers, or when I’m just using the phone speaker. The sound will suddenly drop as if a notification has come through, but there is no notification. Sometimes the volume will stay low until I quit the app and restart it. Sometimes, the volume stops entirely and I’ve even heard what sounds like bits and pieces of maybe a commercial(?) playing when that happens. I’ve tried everything I can think of short of completely resetting my phone (which I’m trying to avoid doing because of the important stuff on there). Is there any way to fix this?

Solution: What you will want to do in this case is to first check if the problem is caused by an app you installed in the phone. To do this you have to start the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone works in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. In case the issue does not occur in this mode then you will have to find out what app is causing the problem then uninstall it.

In case the issue still persists even in Safe Mode then you should proceed with the following steps.

  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try checking first if the issue still occurs.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S9 Music Will Start And Stop

Problem: Hello, hope you are all well. I have an S9 with an audio problem. What happens is the music will stop and start, but its quick and has a short fade in and out time. After a bit of research I discovered that it is most likely a firmware issue. The phone was a NZ located firmware  now what happened here is my father decided to try update it by pre updating it with firmware online… He ended up making it Russian hah, so he gave me the cell (to keep so happy as) and I thought I would try and fix it haha… It’s now Korean and still haven’t managed to recover the IMEI as well as no service still (for obvious reasons haha). It stopped resetting itself though but has that audio problem. How would I go about fixing this? Any and all help/advice would be great, thank you. I have tried hard resets and cachè clears but it will not run properly and will not carry the full hard reset through (nor cache).

Solution: Since the phone is no longer running on its original firmware then the best thing that you can do right now is to flash the phone with its original firmware file. You can try getting the firmware file from the Sammobile website which is also where you can get the instructions on how to flash your phone.

S9 Speaker Not Working After Getting Wet

Problem: Hi my daughter dropped my S9 in the dogs water bowl. Since then everything else is working ok but when i make or receive calls the speaker doesn’t work. Unless i put them in loudspeaker. Also if im watching videos there is no sound. But my ringtone and alert sounds do work. Help!

Solution: It looks like the speaker of the phone got damaged during the drop. To fix this problem you should perform the following steps listed below which are meant to check if a software glitch is causing the issue.

  • Check if the issue occurs in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Immediately check if the issue still occurs after the reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
