Note 20 Getting Updates, Note 10 Support Ending Soon
The Galaxy Note 20 series got the July 2023 security patch a couple of months ago and remains on a monthly schedule for now.
Meanwhile, the Note 10 is nearing the end of its 3 year update lifespan. It is expected to get quarterly patches starting October 2023.
Longer Support for Newer Models
Samsung has a 4-year security update policy for its smartphones. This means that devices launched in 2019 or later will be supported with firmware security updates for a minimum of 4 years following their global launch.
In general, newer Galaxy S and Note models like the S22 and S21 can expect 3-4 years of monthly security updates from Samsung before moving to a quarterly schedule. This is significantly better than the industry standard of 2-3 years.
