How to fix LG V35 ThinQ that can’t connect to a WiFi network

Based on experience, connectivity-related problems are often minor and you could fix them by yourself without any help from a technician. In fact, there’s one solution that I’m very confident would fix this problem. So, try to go through the solutions below and see what works for you…

First solution: Restart your LG V35 ThinQ

You must begin your troubleshooting with a reboot because if this is a minor issue, there’s a chance a simple reboot can fix it especially if this is the first time that the problem occurred. So, hit that power key to restart your device and after which tap the Home button to trigger Nova Launcher. If the problem continues, try doing the Forced Reboot which is more effective than the normal reboot.

  • Press and hold the Volume Down and Power keys together for 8 seconds or more.

If the problem still occurs after this, then move on to the next solution.

Second solution: Reset Network Settings

This will delete all your network settings and set all radios back to their default settings. This is the solution that I’ve been talking about. Majority of the network-related problems I encountered before were fixed by this procedure.

Resetting network settings resets all data connections back to the out of the box factory defaults. The following changes occur when you reset network settings.

  • Stored Wi-Fi networks will be deleted.
  • Stored tethered connections will be deleted.
  • Paired Bluetooth devices will be deleted.
  • Background data sync settings will be turned on.
  • Data restrictive settings in applications that were manually turned on/off by the customer will be reset to the default setting.
  • Network selection mode will be set to automatic.
  • Preferred mobile network type will be set to best.

To perform a Network reset, follow these steps.

  1. From the Home screen, Settings.
  2. Tap the ‘General’ tab.
  3. Tap Restart & reset > Network settings reset > RESET SETTINGS > Reset Settings.
  4. A ‘Network settings have been reset’ message briefly flashes to indicate the reset is complete.

If the problem is with your phone, then this is the solution you need. However, if your V35 ThinQ still can’t connect to the network after this, then move on to the next solution.

Third solution: Restart your network equipment

You may need to refresh your network connections by restarting your router especially if you also have similar problems with you other devices. If necessary, you may also need to update the firmware of your network equipment or change its configuration.

However, if your other phones or devices can connect to the same network without any problems, then then issue could be in your LG V35 ThinQ and after doing the aforementioned procedures to no avail, then the next method may help you fix the problem.

Fourth solution: Perform the master reset

This will rule out the possibility that the problem is minor and only in the firmware. Before the reset, make sure you make a backup of your important files and data as they will be deleted. After the reset and the problem continues, then that’s the time you bring the phone back to the store so that a technician can check it for you.

  1. Back up all data on the internal memory before performing a master reset.
  2. Turn off the device.
  3. Press and hold the Power and Volume down buttons.
  4. When the LG logo appears, quickly release and then re-hold the Power button while continuing to hold the Volume down button.
  5. When the ‘Delete all user data (including LG and carrier apps) and reset all settings’ message appears, use the Volume down button to highlight Yes.
  6. Press the Power button to reset the device.
