Solved Samsung Galaxy S9 No SIM Card Detected

This phone now uses the powerful Snapdragon 845 processor paired with 4GB of RAM providing it performance boost. Although this is a solid performing phone there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S9 No SIM card detected error and other related problems.

S9 No SIM Card Detected
Problem: Hi my phone is Samsung galaxy S9, never had any problem until 2 month ago when I went overseas, and I changed my sim card .at first it was ok but then few days later no internet connection and later no sim card detected. So I went and got a new sim card ,2 days later the same problem occurred on and off ,I went and they check the sim card in another phone it was working fine,only on mine had a problem. I came back home, hoping the problem was there but it still exist with my own sim card , I delete cash, factory set up, took it to samsung to be checked they said no problem. But it still has ,what should I do ,I bought it a few months ago it is not fair I have to go and buy a new phone. Shame on you Samsung for not accepting the fault. I searched on the internet apparently so many people have the same issue with this but no solution.
Solution: If you own SIM card works on another phone then it is safe to say that this is a phone related problem. To fix this you should try cleaning the SIM slot of the phone by using a can of compressed air. This air will remove any dirt or debris stuck in the SIM slot which could be causing the problem. Once this is done try to check if the phone can read the SIM card. If it can’t and since you have already performed a factory reset then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component, possibly the SIM card reader of the phone not working anymore. The best thing you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S9 Phone Not Allowed Error
Problem: I bought an S9 about 3 months ago Pre-owned. It worked perfectly fine until now. I get data, but no service. I can’t make texts or calls. The only hint I have as to what is happening is I get a message at the top of my screen occasionally that says “phone not allowed” I changed the sim, reset network settings, factory reset, and hard reset. None of them worked.
Solution: If you have already performed a factory reset and you still get the same error message then the IMEI of the device might be blacklisted by the carrier. This error message usually occurs when a SIM card from a different carrier is placed in the phone. The first thing you need to do in this case is to contact your carrier and ask whether they can remove this error.
S9 IMEI Null Error After Rooting
Problem: I rooted my phone then I factory reset my phone in hopes of wiping out all data. Then I loaded TWRP and did a factory reset once more there as well as a data partitioning. Once finish I flashed the official Oreo 8.1 firmware to my S9. Upon restarting my phone I saw that I was not connected to 4g mobile data any longer and had no signal bars. After restarting my phone several times I still had no signal bars or mobile data connection. My WIFI worked fine though. Then I went back and install TWRP in hopes that it would give me back mobile data connection and the signal bars. It did not and I checked in the settings of my phone. I learned that my IMEI number for the phone became unknown and was nulled. So II trie downgrading the firmware . I flashed the previous firmware but this time my phone wouldn’t boot. I installed TWRP and loaded into the recovery. I notice that it said that the EFS folder couldn’t me mounted; an invalid argument was the error I received. Now my phone won’t boost past the T-Mobile screen. However, I can still access the recovery menu and Odin downloader menu. I hope you can assist me with me in restoring my phone’s EFS folder and IMEI number or at least point me in the right direction. I did not backup either one of them sadly as it didn’t occur to me that this could happen.
Solution: Since you don’t have a backup of your EFS folder or IMEI number then this is going to be difficult to troubleshoot. Have you tried flashing the updated stock firmware file of the phone using Odin? If you already have and the issue still persists then the best thing you can do right now is to have the phone repaired at a service center.
