S9 Keeps On Restarting By Itself

Problem: My Galaxy S9 keeps restarting by itself. I did what you said to do and it did not resolve my problem. Went to Verizon and they told me that this is a problem with some S9 and Samsung is aware of the problem and are working on a fix. If this is true they should have put this information out. I was going to purchase a new phone because of this problem and now wonder how many people already have. Would you be able to check into this? Thank you

Solution: There’s a possibility that the problem could be caused by one of the apps you downloaded. To check if this is the case just start the phone in Safe Mode. If the phone does not restart in this mode then it is most likely caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

In case the problem still occurs in Safe Mode then remove the microSD card of the phone if you have one installed. Backup your phone data then start the phone in recovery mode. From here perform the following steps.

  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone.
  • Do a factory reset.

After performing the above steps do not install any apps in your phone. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S9 Only Vibrates When Turning On Phone

Problem: My phone will act normally as I use it whilst it has battery. As soon as it loses battery and is “dead”. Once I plug the charger in and try to press the power button to turn it on. It is unresponsive. I will feel the vibration which usually means it will turn on. But the screen is completely blank and doesn’t have anything on it. What is the cause of this…?

Solution: To fix this problem try cleaning the charging port of the phone first using a can of compressed air. Once this is done charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger. Once the battery has sufficient charge try turning on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.

If the phone still does not turn on then the battery might be faulty. You will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.

S9 Takes Too Long To Charge

Problem: Hello there, I own a Samsung Galaxy S9, worked good for awhile but it stopped charging normally, it takes about 6 hours to fully charge, it shows USB connected in the settings, I’ve tried replacing the charger, bought the best quality charger, still nothing. i’ve had it at repair shops and they said that the port was damaged and needed to be repaired, i’ve sent it to one and they supposedly replaced it but it still didn’t charge normally, it actually charged worse, I guess they added a faulty port or something, but could it be possible that the port is defective? have you ever heard of someone fixing this issue on any Samsung?

Solution: There’s a possibility that the charging port of the phone is faulty. To make sure that the port is working it’s best to have this fixed at a Samsung service center. In case the port has been replaced with a fully functioning one and the phone still takes too long to charge then try to eliminate the possibility of a software glitch causing this problem by doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as his could be caused by a faulty battery.

S9 Not Fully Charging After A Software Update

Problem: I have a samsung s9 that i updated to the new software version the end of july 2018. Right after the update battery issues began to occur, never would charge fully, battery percent fluctuations, then after a few days of this, totally black screened. Took it to a samsung tech in best buy and he said he could not fix it and to send it in to samsung. Samsung then called and said the phone warranty was voided because the screen had been replaced. Samsung said they were sending it back and refused to fix it. It did have a screen fixed. But everything started after the update.

Solution: If this issue occurred right after a software update then this could be caused by old software data that has not been completely removed. The best thing you can do to fix this issue is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If after the reset the problem still persists then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component. You will need to have this checked at a service center if this is the case.
