S9+ Is Not Fast Charging

Problem: Hi, I have a problem with Samsung S9+ fast charging. Till recently the device served me perfectly well, however, as of yesterday I experience problems with fast charging, i.e. fast charging is not working at all. The fast charging option is turned ON and shows green sign (settings/battery/fast cable charging) but each time I plug the cable in to charge the device the fast charging option automatically turns OFF and shows grey sign, and fast charging is not working. Below I found the message that the charger must be disconnected to enable fast charging, and when I disconnect the charger it automatically turns green and shows that fast charging option is turned ON, but when I connect the charger again it again automatically turns OFF, and again and again. It happens regardless of percentage of battery (on 10% as well as on 60, 70, 80 etc.). I restarted the device few times but this haven’t change. I use original Samsung charger and cable. Can you help me with this issue please? Thank you so much in advance. Best regards

Solution: The first thing you need to do in this particular issue is to make sure that the charging port of the phone is free from any dirt or debris. Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Next, check the phone settings and make sure that fast charging is enabled.

  • From the Home screen, swipe up or down to access the Apps screen.
  • Tap Settings.
  • Tap Device maintenance.
  • Tap Battery.
  • Tap the More options icon.
  • Tap Advanced settings.
  • To turn on Fast cable charging, touch the slider.

Try charging the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should try to backup your phone data and do a factory reset if the same problem occurs.

In case the issue still persists then this problem could be caused by a faulty hardware component. I suggest that you have this checked at a service center.

S9+ Does Not Charge

Problem: My phone doesn’t want to charge last night I plugged my charger in it charged for a little while then the screen flicker then it turned black with a white X at the bottom then it stopped charging then it flickered again turn black with a white X on the bottom then it started charging for a little bit well I went to bed and woke up this morning and it was only 83% so I unplugged it and then not even five minutes later it went down to 10% and I didn’t even use it so then I plugged it in again and it’s been on the charger for over an hour and it’s at 3% it’s draining more than charging. My charger works fine on my tablet and I’ve tried a different charger on my phone and it won’t charge at all.

Solution: Try cleaning the charging port of the phone first using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port is removed. Onc this is done try charging the phone using a wall charger. If the issue persists then try using a different charging cord and wall charger.

One last troubleshooting step to consider is a factory reset. This will allow you to eliminate any software glitches that could be causing the problem. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S9+ Battery Level Always Shows 100%

Problem: Hi There , my phone is actually a samsung S9+ that is unlocked. The issue I have is that my phone battery is showing as at 100% at all times.

Things I have tried:

*- Bought a brand new Samsung official charger and charging cord

*- Cleaned the phone charging port

*- Booting up in safe mode

*- Wiping Cache Partition

*- Hard Factory Reset (both from settings menu and from recovery options menu)

*- ‘Recalibrating’ the battery using both Samsung official wires / apps from the Play Store – including GSAM battery monitor going so far as to accessing ADB devices to see if I could get more information – no dice

The battery appears to be functioning normally apart from the fact it states 100%.  When I plug the phone in … the phone shows the usual red charging light and after a while will go green to say full charge – all the while saying 100%. i’ve tried charging with the phone both off and on.

I’m at a loss as to what to do next – the phone in functioning perfectly apart from this. I assume there is something wrong with the ‘battery sensors’. Hope you can help!

Solution: If this problem still occurs even after a factory reset then this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component which could be the sensor or the battery itself. The best thing you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S9+ Only Vibrates When Powering On

Problem: I have a problem with my samsung galaxy S9+. I am having a problem with turning it on. When I try to turn it on just by pressing the power button it does not give any sign of life. and when I try to turn it on in safe mode by holding down the power button and the volume down button it will vibrate every 10 seconds and it wont turn on the screen or show the samsung logo and it will keep vibrating every 10 seconds. This all happened after it just turned off when i was charging it and it was at 27% at the time. I appreciate your help and time and hope you can help me solve my problems.

Solution: This phone will usually vibrate when powering on if the battery does not have sufficient charge. What you should do right now is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air then charge the device using a wall charger. If you don’t see the charging indicator then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You can also check if the phone charges from a computer USB port. Once the battery has sufficient charge try turning on the device.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
