S9+ Goes Silent During Calls

Problem: Samsung S9 going silent intermittently during calls. Onto 2nd Replacement. Same problem on both phones regardless of firmware, factory reset etc. Is there a fix in site, I have spent about 35 hours trying to solve this problem with all the instructions received but nothing works. I just want to be able to make calls where the conversation is not marred with dead spots.

Solution: If you have already replaced the phone and even performed a factory reset then the problem could either be caused by an issue with the network in your area or due to a faulty SIM card. Try going to a different area then check if the issue still occurs. If it still does then I suggest that you try using a different SIM card in your phone.

S9+ Does Not Show Who Is Calling

Problem: My new s9 plus stopped showing me who was calling I have to unlock the screen and pull down from the top and click on the white bar then answer the call by then I miss the call. They couldn’t fix it with troubleshooting via Verizon or Samsung so they sent me a new phone and it does it to my husband works fine it who’d who is calling and has the red and green answering buttons and mine doesnt . We have matched every setting in his phone to mine exactly and it still won’t show me who is calling it acts like its stuck in stupid or something please help

Solution: What you should do in this particular case is to make sure that call forwarding is not active for your account. If it is active then you can turn it off by dialing *73. You can also disable call forwarding from your computer through My Verizon.

S9+ Cannot Receive Phone Calls

Problem:  Good day, I can’t receive phone calls; to be more specific i can’t hear anything . I think the problem started recently as my phone wont restart and had a black screen. I found a way via internet forum to restart it again but since then i have this problem and the battery seems to be less efficient as well. I tried all steps as per your guide  and did a factory set up. I did notice while i did it a “attention” (yellow triangle) while I was doing this wipe, reset factory.

Solution: The first thing you need to do whenever you are unable to receive or hear calls is to make sure that you are in an area that has a good network signal. The more signal bars that your phone is getting then the better the reception is when making calls. If the signal is good but the problem still persists then try using a different SIM card in your phone to eliminate any SIM related problems. I also suggest that you do a factory reset from the recovery mode. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

If the issue still occurs after the reset then I suggest that you have your phone checked at a service center.

S9+ Calls Can’t Be Heard Unless On Speakerphone

Problem: Hi.  I’m having an issue where I can’t hear the other party on phone calls and they can’t hear me – unless I’m on speaker phone.  Non-speaker phone calls do not work at all. It connects just fine, and I can switch back and forth during a call and the audio only works when in speaker mode.  No other issues with sound (alarm clock, notification beeps, etc). I’ve restarted several times. Any ideas?

Solution: The first thing you need to do in this case is to make sure that the volume level of the phone is set to maximum. Once this is doen and the issue still occurs then you should perform a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. If the problem still occurs after the reset then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
