S9 Camera Photos Are Black
Problem: I take 3 or 4 pictures in a row, I click on the picture to view them in the gallery, the most recent picture is clear and shows fine, but then when I swipe left to see the other couple pictures I took they show up as black (and nothing will make the image show, tried a lot of things). Then, I click the back arrow at the top left to bring up the thumbnail style gallery instead of full screen one picture at a time mode, and the pictures ALL DO show up in there, but they are all VERY low quality (less than standard, non HD quality….really low quality, blurry). So then I try deleting the most recent pic (the one that does show fine in the full screen mode), I close and re open the camera app, then I can view the next one fine but still none prior to that (and the one I can see is perfectly fine quality. I tried to do the suggestion you made with clearing the cache but that didn’t help. I’m trying not to do a full reset that would delete me data…to much on here to hassle with that. Any thoughts?
Related Problem: Camera problem with S9. After taking photos (approx. 2-3), the last photo taken (first photo) still appears, but previous photos are gone, photo is black (like no photo taken). Then upon deleting these black-out photos, the first photo also disappears. Perhaps you can tell what is wrong? thank you!
Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to check if the problem is caused by some corrupt data in the Gallery or Camera app. Go to the application manager of the phone then clear the cache and data of both the Gallery and Camera apps. Once this is done try to check if the issue still occurs. If it does then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below. After performing each step immediately check if the issue still occurs and if it does then proceed to the next step.
- Remove the microSD card of the phone if you have one installed.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. Does the issue occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
S9 Cannot Save Photos To microSD Card After Software Update
Problem: I owned samsung S9. And few days ago i updated my samsung to latest update. After that i can’t save any photos to my sd card. As i change the settings to save to sd card, there will always notification that I can’t save photos to sd card and the internal storage has been set to default storage. Can you help me?
Solution: Try removing the microSD card from your phone then do a soft reset by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Once the phone has started insert the microSD card then check if the issue still occurs.
If the issue persists then try to check if the microSD card is causing the problem by getting a new one and using it in your phone. If this doesn’t work then it’s likely that the problem is caused by old software data that has not been completely removed during the update process. You will need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
S9 Dropping Frames When Recording In Slow Motion
Problem: When I record video in Slow motion in 240 fps it’s dropping frames. When playing back the recorded video its stuttering and not at all smooth and fluently. I am recording to the device to outrule issue with SD card. I have all so changed the screen resolution to WQHD+. It seems to be a common issue. I returned my brand new s8 cause of that same problem. Got an s9 instead, trying that would be better….but no.
Solution: This seems to be an issue with the phone software as it is trying to keep up with the large amount of data processing required when taking a slow motion video. The best way to troubleshoot this problem is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete you should take a slow motion video. If the problem does not occur then it could be caused by either an app you downloaded or a software glitch. If the issue persists then you will have to wait for a future update to be released by Samsung that will address this specific issue.
