J7 Text Message Preview Not Showing After Software Update

Problem: Since latest software update , most of notifications is messed up. – With texting the sound works but there is no pop-up / preview when a text comes in even though everything is set to show preview / pop-up. Even when the screen is black, a text comes through and the screen lights up like the preview is going to pop up, but nothing appears. It’s just the sound and the screen lighting up and a badge number showing I have a text. – With Calendar, similar. The sound goes off but no preview / pop-up of what the calendar event is. – With Google Voicemail, no sound or pop up at all when l get a voicemail, and also no sound when there is a missed call, even though all the settings are set to do all that. – Per one of your suggestions about switching to Android Messages or another text app, I’ve tried 3 and when it downloads my current texts it only gives me the recipients texts and not text that I’ve sent. All of my sent texts are missing, so all I see is what the recipient sent me. It happened in three different text apps.

Solution: It appears that the problem is caused by old software data that has not been completely removed from the phone. This old data is now causing a conflict with the new software version resulting in this issue. The best thing that you can do right now to remove this old data is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete the issue will most likely be resolved.

J7 Touchscreen Not Working After Software Update

Problem: I have a year old Samsung Galaxy J7 . It worked like a top until Saturday afternoon when Samsung did an update on the unit. Now the touch screen functionality is very hit or miss. I sometimes have to tap an icon 10 or 15 times to get it to accept that it has been tapped. I have followed a couple of your suggestions and turned it on in safe mode and done a factory reset. Nothing seems to help. Any assistance you could render would be greatly appreciated. I am very frustrated with the phone and do not have the patience that I had when dial up was a thing.  Solution: If the screen still remains unresponsive even after you have performed a factory reset then it’s very likely that the digitizer of the phone is faulty. I recommend that you bring the phone to a service center and have it checked so that a proper diagnosis can be made.

J7 App Opens On Its Own After Software Update

Problem: Hi.. i did the latest update for my samsung edge J7 & now my word addict app keeps interrupting whatever else i am doing on my phone..i can be on the net & up it comes.. i really don’t want to uninstall and reinstall game as i am at a high level & will lose my place..never happened before i did latest update. I go into apps & force stop & that seems to help, but if i forget (& i do), i& next thing i check phone & my word addict app has suddenly appeared & my phone is hot as did not realize..pain!!!!

Solution: For this particular issue you should try checking if an update to the app is available from the Google Play Store. If no update is available then you should consider uninstalling the app then install a fresh version. Most apps right now save the player data to the cloud so when you install the app again your data will be synced back to your phone.

J7 Text Notifications Not Working

Problem: I have a Samsung galaxy J7 and my text notifications are no longer working, this is now the third time and this time nothing is working. I have looked everything over and everything is set correctly. Unable to do a soft reset because the back of the phone cannot be removed unless there is a trick. I’m at a loss and frustrated as all get out. I read that I can go to safe mode by continuously pressing the power button and that isn’t even working. Please help

Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this case is to make sure that the notifications setting of the phone is turned on.

• From a Home screen go to Apps then Messages
• Tap the Menu icon
• Tap Notifications switch and make sure that it is on
• You can make additional settings here such as sound options and vibrate.

If the notification switch is already on but the issue still persists then I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
