Galaxy A5 Turns Off When Unplugged From Charger

Problem: Hey there, I have an A5 that will charge to %100 but when I unplug it after ten seconds of use it shuts off. This doesn’t happen when plugged in and when I restart it Unplugged it goes into a boot loop. I tried the factory reset but it didn’t fix it . Wondering if you guys might have a fix or you think it’s only the battery and I need a new one?

Solution: Since you have already performed a factory reset which does not fix the problem then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component already which could be the battery or the power IC. The best thing you can do right now is to  bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Galaxy A5 Not Charging Or Turning On

Problem: Hi, I have had my A5  for almost a year now, but it has suddenly died. I shattered the screen three weeks ago, but found that the touchscreen was still responsive and everything worked fine, so I didn’t bother getting the screen fixed or sending it for any other work. However I started to notice a week later that my phone wasn’t charging the same, either really slow or not at all. In fact, it would slowly die on the charger. Two days in a row I woke up to a completely dead phone that I had left to charge the previous night. I thought that it was my charger, so I bought a new cord and charger, and for a few days it seemed fine, just never charged to 100%. Then just last week, as I was putting it to charge, I noticed that the lighting symbol that indicated if it was charging wasn not turning on when I inserted the cord into the charging port. It eventually died all the way, and I haven’t been able to turn it back on since. I just want to be able to turn it onto transfer my stuff to a new phone, I have important pictures and contacts I want to move to my new phone. Please help me out,Thank you in advance.

Solution: While this already looks like a hardware related problem caused by the broken display there are still some troubleshooting steps that you can do which we have listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in the port.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger. Once the phone has sufficient charge you can then backup your phone data.
  • If the phone does not charge then try charging it from a computer USB port.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Galaxy A5 Will Not Charge Using Wall Charger

Problem: It all started with the moisture detection problem. It would pop up often and my phone has never been in water. Then the OEM charge wouldn’t charge the device at all. Charging from computer worked, car charger works, and anything other than a Samsung outlet plug will charge the phone. No more fast charge, as well. Just cleaned the port out and factory reset the phone and no luck.

Solution: It’s very likely that the problem is caused by a faulty pin in the charging port assembly of the phone. Have this checked at a service center. If it can’t be fixed then the whole charging port assembly of the phone will need to be replaced.

Galaxy A5 Not Turning On After Freezing

Problem: Galaxy A5 completely dead after it froze then switched off, have tried leaving it on charge then all the normal types of reset etc but the Samsung logo doesn’t even appear when you try to switch it on, no lights at all however the phone does get warm slightly

Solution: For this particular problem you should follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger.
  • Press and hold the power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should turn on after this.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
