Galaxy A3 Verification Failed Unable To Restart Device Error

Problem: I powered my Samsung Galaxy A3 2017 (SM-A320FL) on while charging it in the car using my c-type adapter and an android charger. The power on was normal; the black and white screen with the words “Samsung Galaxy A3 powered by android”, my mobile carrier’s screen and the Samsung logo. As per usual, it prompted me to enter my password and it was successful. Just as the phone was about to unlock, it restarted again and a black screen popped up with the message “Verification Failed. Unable to restart your device. The integrity verification has failed. You need to reset your device to factory default settings. This will erase all of your data” and a rest button at the bottom. I have very important photographs and documents on my phone that I wish to recover, so is it possible to fix this error (I’ve come across many people on multiple sites that have been able to fix the error by stocking custom ROMs using Odin, but when I check around, many sites claim that this wipes all data) Any help will be appreciated.

Solution: To troubleshoot the problem without losing your phone data you can try the following steps listed below.

  • Do a soft reset. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Check if the phone restarts normally.
  • Check if the phone can start in Safe Mode. If it does then you will be able to backup your phone data. Once you have made a copy of your phone data then try restarting the phone.
  • Try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to consider doing a factory reset in recovery mode to fix the problem.

Galaxy A3 Blank Screen But Can Still Receive Calls

Problem: My phone was working just fine it had went blank on the screen before and came right back on. But this time it won’t do anything I can receive calls and everything. But I can’t see anything at all I keep trying to turn it off and back on and I am getting nothing. I really need my phone I just got a few business numbers and didn’t get to save them just yet and now my phone is blank is there anything I can do to get my numbers out or my text messages or see my call log something if possible I really needed this morning.

Solution: The first thing you can do in this particular case is to do a soft reset. Press and hold both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. In case the screen remains blank then try starting the phone in Safe Mode. If the screen works in this mode then there’s a possibility that the problem is caused by an app you downloaded Find out what app this is and uninstall it. In case the screen still remains blank in this mode and you need access to your phone data then the best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as the problem could be caused by a defective display assembly which might need to be replaced.

Galaxy A3 Replacing Damaged Display

Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy A3 that was, literally, bent backwards and ‘ran over’, and mow half of the screen is black. I believe the insides are messed up, but I’m also thinking I might be able to fix it myself. The crack runs from the bottom of the screen and gets wider as it goes up the right side of the screen. Do you think I can replace the screen myself, or would I have to have it fixed by a ‘pro’? Thank you for your time.

Solution: If it is only the display that is damaged then you can replace the whole display assembly yourself if you have the correct tools available. Refer to this guide on how to replace the screen of your phone

If  however there are other components that are damaged aside form the display then it’s best to have this repaired at a service center.

Galaxy A3 Screen Flickers

Problem: Hi! So for a few weeks my Samsung A3 flickers when is going to rest mode, the brightness flickers. Then when I try unlock it the screen also flickers into various colours and sometimes it doesn’t even light up it takes several times me pressing the lock button sometimes even a few minutes if me doing it that the screen lights up. Even if I take the battery out and in it still wont light up. I already tried it in safe mode and it kinda does it as well less so but still.

Solution: The best thing you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try checking first if the issue still occurs. If it does then this could already be a hardware related problem possibly caused by a faulty display assembly. The best thing you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
